Think it was said that the 5ltr works out at aprox £6/ltr. using a 500ml bottle will give me roughly 8-10fills depending how empty tank is etc. if it that far between refills then i think it worth it, and i do lots of miles: 20-25k/yr at least so lots of filling!

My 1ltr bottle arrives today, just in time for a fill up. Dont think I have a Shell garage around, whats the next best? I have BP, Jet, Morrisons?

Don't think there's much difference between them. The only thing I have noticed is that my car doesn't seem to like Ultra low sulphur. I only use Shell 'cos there's one near me and I collect the points.

Is that from Shell? I filled up from Shell on friday when I bought the car and have been less than impressed so far with mpg, perhaps that was Ultra Low.

Yes it was Shell. The pumps didn't seem to be too well marked up to show which was standard and which was ultra low. It's the second time that I have done it.

I'll make sure I check from now on.

Hi

when you say uve been less than impressed so far with mpg from Shell ultra low deisel, what value do you have? I use it and regularly get high 40's or low 50's on a 12mile country road and 5 miles city commute each way daily

That good from a 56 FR TDi, 4,500 on the clock?

Cheers

It was me that was not impressed with Ultra low.

I did 387miles from the tankful compared to 450 - 480 with standard low sulpur. Last time I used it, which was a while ago, I remember the mpg being poor as well.

I have no probs with the standard low sulphur, just the Ultra low stuff. Never used V-power or ultimate so can't compare to them.

Millers have a depot in Glasgow if you're anywhere near. They should stock it and it may work out cheaper buying it direct.

I cant say I know if i put ultra low or just normal low sulphur in, will check. 480 sounds bout same as me.

Have tried V power, used it on a 320 mile run, on the way their got 52mpg wit Millers power plus , and 51mpg on standard shell with Millers power plus.

didnt seem worth the extra cash!

Wow, thats pretty poor. Im using Shell low sulphur i think (need to fill up today so will find out) with Millers deisel power plus.
I dont have to drive particularly slow to get it above 50, hoping the Millers 4 does more.

Thats what I was thinking too, my Millers 4 arrives today so fingers crossed.

Are there many of you on here who have used Shell V-Power Diesel? I am on my second tank and I am very pleased with it! My over average economy has gone up from around 46mpg to over 50mpg. Acceleration is better and the engine runs quieter and with less smoke under hard acceleration.

I did use the Millers + shell / Esso diesel combo before and V-Power blows its socks away in terms of tangiable(sp.) gains.
