Im trying to get a set of front brake pads for my LCR but being told that Mintex have stopped making them for Brembo calipers, has anyone else had this trouble?
apparently the only ones avaliable are by ATE, has anyone had experience of these?

There will be a BIG cue of people bigging up the DS2500 pads on all forums.
Don't worry about the decision just fit them and the worry will be over, you have fitted the right pads

Dont fit mintex, they cant take the temp thru the front brakes, i fitted some, 2 months later i was fitting another set of DS2500's i dont use my brakes that much aswell.

( i only fitted the mintex extreme pads cause i couldn't get any ferrodo pads quick enough)

i've got ferodo DS performance pads all round on my LCR and i think that they're a great pad........ and DS2500's are meant to be even better!

i'll be going for DS2500's on my next car. :)

Esc im pretty sure they havent got wear idicators but half the time they wont work anyway so best just to check plus isnt to hard with the gaps between the big Cupra R alloys:D

These don't have the wear indicators on them. I've always changed discs and pads at the same time so no need to worry about this

Does the DS2500 have the wear indicator lead?

No, but the LCR only has the indicator one side and on numerous occassions people have been down to the metal on the wrong side (i.e, with no indicator wire)

There is a full fitting guide i did back in the depths of time basically you just cut the sensor wires from the old brake pad, twist together, put some insulation tape over them to protect and a couple of cable ties on the wire to stop it flapping about.

Otherwise the dash light stays on

thanks guys, and thanks vwbassett for the very helpful hint!!! but i went one better and i took my wheels off today to have a look cos there just seemed so much meat left on the pads and as it turns out the edge of the disc had cut through the cables for the indicator which is why the warning popped up!! i have atleast twice the amount of pad left for when the warning should have gone off!

do you think that means its time for new disc's?!
