Hi guys, thought it was about time i posted some pics of my cupra. I bought it in a bit of a sorry state and have put a bit of cash into it, new brakes all round etc and am currently doing the engine.

Got some 6000k HID's on the way for it and did a bit of headlight correction today, wetsanded some scratches out and polished them and they have come up great, also installed some LED side lights aswell. Also got some tailored mats on the way :D

Heres some pics off the advert, havent got none yet :(

Congrats on the purchase! Was this the car for sale on PH that was advertised in Bham?? If so i was going to buy the car but something about the price kept telling me not to, when i spoke to the seller he told me he didnt have any service history with the car, which i thought was abit strange for a 54 reg car. Glad to see a member on here has got the car, i really liked the looks of it its a lovely colour, hope it all goes well for you mate. and once the engine is done and if u wanna sell for the same price i wouldnt say no lol

Ashton mate,

Yes it was off piston heads and from birmingham, i found enough faults to get it for 4700, im gna get it upto scratch dont worry, needs 4 new wheels im not even going to entertain repairing them but there least of my worries.

Well im halfway through my engine rebuild, i sourced an AUQ head off a skoda forum, no cams in and needed some exhaust vavles, £65 posted. I took all the valves out my current head, except 2 in cylinder 2, so i had 2 good vavles which i cleaned up, and got 2 brand new ones today. Heres a few pics of the head rebuild so far.
New pistons are in, bottom end all torqued up and rebuilt, sump on & sealed, bottom end timed up, so just have the head to do and i am putting it on monday :D

God it looks so sad when it's out of the car like that. :(

Looks like your cracking on though. Nice to see the progress your making with it. [B)]

Its all easy its just nuts and bolts isnt it :) just unsure about piston rings, if i use them out the old engine if its a good one then should be no problems, new ones are like 100 a cylinder :(

Not sure mate. All I know is piston rings are good for cleaning up pistons. There an ideal size to get all the gung out. I learnt that last night. lol :D
