Hi Guys

Does anyone know of any little tricks you can do to the Toledo with a Vagcon kit.

I would love to have Coming home light (But I believe there are hardware criteria for that) but the likes of Remote global windows would be a nifty feature on the Toledo

I dont use coming home lights but I'm sure it's already a feature of the car. Either check the handbook or ask on Briskoda Rapid forum.

Massive section about vcds(vag-com) on Briskoda.

european contributors reckon you can add dial staging, 1-click central locking, adjust amount of power steering assist, disable cornering fogs, change maxidot modes to other countries (enable big digital MPH display and other stuff)

look through the Rapid forums and VCDS forums on Briskoda.

Also there is a list of Vag-Com/vcds owners and locations.

Hi guys, new here.

Picking up my new toledo tomorrow, I've requested that they change it to one click unlocking and add a 20 second delay when locking the boot.

I would love to have MPH display instead of KMH but they told me they can't do that. The dial staging would be cool but not 100% necessary.

Can you use the keyfob to close all the windows on this car by holding the button? Seen some discussions about it on the rapid.

Cheers! ;)

Chris Welcome

What Toledo you getting? Mine was an approved used one so it had the 2 click unlock already on it, and my partner gets annoyed as so many times I forget to unlock her door. There are so many features that VCDS would unlock that I would enjoy but I cannot afford the price for what I would use it for.

Joe, find a friendly VagCom/VCDS owner in your area on Briskoda.

Chris, AFAIK the country setting needs changing to Australia to get the big MPH on the maxidot, but having a kmh display is possibly EU law.

I've never tried the remote window closure.

Thanks guys.

The reason I'd like the MPH display is that unfortunately when I adjust the seat and wheel to where I'm comfortable, the wheel hides part of the speedo so I have to move my head to see around the 60-70 mark.

I have the same problem in my old Rover 45! Unlucky I guess :p.

I'm getting a 1.2 TSI I-Tech in Ocean Blue, going to pick it up at 10am this morning so can't wait!

I've not spent a lot of time on ECUs or car reprogramming but I'm fairly skilled with programming/computers/electronics so I'd love to have a play with what it could do.

You can get an MPH display in the centre section, its one of the options for the head up display.

Chris, you can adjust the wheel to suit your seat style so you can see the displays

Coding is pretty straightforward, even with little computer experience. Did various tweeks to a friends Octavia estate in a half hour lunch break, inc testing the mods out

As for what's possible, the only way to find out is to hook up vcds and see what options the car has.

Does that work in Ireland?

In the UK we have to have a kmh scale and there isnt one on the speedo.

Hence the VAGCOM country coding to Australia which apparently unlocks the big mph display.

The MPH display replaces the outside Temp reading in mine, yes.

Is your round speedo in KMs or MPH?

I think UK drivers want MPH on both speedo and maxidot.

Yeah that'd be great :).

I think it's going to be very rare if ever at all that I'll be driving in europe, and if I ever did I'll change it back first.

I have adjusted both the steering wheel and seat but for me the most comfortable spot just happens to be awkward for reading the dials.

So my new Toledo has been set by the dealer with 30 second delay before locking the boot, 1 press unlocks all doors, and for some reason it bleeps when you unlock/lock the car as well.

Can this be disabled easily? I know a lot of people want it but I frequently come home very late and don't want to be making a noise out in the street.

I have a laptop... what do I need to get in order to reprogram my settings and where's the best place to start?

Cheers!

The alarm bleep is not standard - the dealer must have changed that setting - so it can be changed back if you need.

What do you need?

Google VCDS for links to the official supplier, after market cables, and somewhere there is a shareware version out there, but I'm sure it doesn't have full functionality of the current ross-tech version.

Rosstech say VCDS lite shareware is only for pre 2006 cars
Main VCDS products start at $249

I would also go to Briskoda or VAG forums for expert advice. Its easy enough to brick phones or PSP's by flashing new software - you wouldn't want to brick your ECU.

Thanks. I'll definitely look at getting the bleep turned off. It's cool, but I don't need it and it'll just p*** off the neighbours haha.

So I'm guessing you wouldn't recommend one of these fleabay jobbies that offers the full software and a cable for £48.99

Cheers guys!

I had a scan through and saw the link to the Carista OBD2 app, downloaded it and it's bloody brilliant!

Got my alarm bleeper turned off, and somehow enabled automatic wipers which I didn't even know I had the sensors for.

Definitely well worth the money IMO, I was going to buy a vcds kit for quite a bit more. If the developers read this please don't put the price up though haha I'm going to recommend to friends.
