Electric wing mirror swap

My drivers side electric mirror won't adjust after taking a few knocks. They're the older 'squarer' type and was wondering if it's possible to do a straight replacement with the newer 'teardrop' shaped ones. Would the triangular piece of plastic need swapping too on the door? Ta.

Thinking I might as well get a set of the newer ones if I'm changing it any way.

There a straight swap , the triangular plastic piece is part of the mirror so no drama will be on the new ones

Also why not fit powerfolding ones ?
You will need the two mirrors , two window motors from the donor car with power gold mirrors and the switch that’s all ,

You’ve got the door card of to swap the mirror so may as well have some powerfold ones

Think this will be my next project once she's through her MOT.

If you had a set of rectangle mirrors I’d be tempted to do a straight swap for my tear drop ones.

They look better but are a right pain to use. Because of the shape I have them tilted up to see behind me but then I can’t see where the rear wheels are when I reverse.

That's a great offer Chris, but my drivers side mirror mechanism is goosed so would be no good to you anyway.

i got some electric square shaped ones for sale, just swapped mine to the teardrops on my R

I’ve just remembered I’ve got a pair in my garage , not powerfolding but are electric and fully working

Completely forgot I’ve still got them from when I fitted my powerfolding ones

All straight swap

But if wanting powerfold mirrors you need switch and window motors too but all plug and play

How much are you (both) wanting for the mirrors guys? Colour not an issue as probably spray the covers black (my car is dark red).
