Picked up my 1.5 TSI a few hours ago. Very pleased with the performance, handling and build quality. Alcantara is certainly a must have as it really makes the interior look better.
Coming from a Leon SC, the boot is a fair bit smaller but there is much more leg room on the back seats.

Nice engine isn’t it. I haven’t actually gone over 4,500 rpm yet as hadn’t needed to as I’ve smashed by other cars aha. Still waiting to meet my match.

Not had much chance to drive mine yet, and today there is loads of snow. :(

It's not just the brand name that decides if your tyres are good.

Just because you have premium brand name tyres, it doesn't mean they're any better than mid-range ones, e.g Nexen.

I find it annoying to choose your car, engine, colour, options and then have no say about the factory fit rubber - it might not even come on the same tyres you test-drove - because it can make such a difference to the whole ownership experience.

Agreed. Just as even 'premium' car makers produce the odd duff/mediocre model and others can surprise with a very competent effort, so it is with tyres.

Manufacturers do all fit 'First Grade' tyres, no matter what the actual brand they are using any particular build week/month.
There was a time when some car makers were loyal to a particular tyre brand, (Citroen used only Michelin, Jaguar with Dunlop, Ford USA with Firestone, e.t.c.) because of a product development relationship or other special deal, but it's the factory price-point that seems to rule nowadays.

Always been the case that some cars are more sensitive to tyre choice than others - the Mk.2 versions of both the Ford Granada and FIAT Panda are well-known examples from the past I had experience of.

For the record, the new Leon has Dunlop Sportmaxx RT fitted, which I expect will prove to be very good as they go, but their size of 225/45x17 (with 168MPH 'W' speed rating) is frankly ridiculous for what is a modestly-powered urban hatchback. FPS they are they same size as the fronts on my Porsche!

My new Ibiza with 17" has Nexen HD Blue Plus tyres. I notice that VW recently did a big deal with Nexen to supply tyres for the Polo /Ibiza / Ateca and various Skoda models.

They seem ok but I will get them replaced with Michelin Crossclimate + tyres at some point.

Dealership says car is being built in week14 (first week in April), when can I realistically expect to get the car?
My estimated build week was 06-2018 (first full week of Feb). When I rang at that time they said it had actually been built and was on the way over to the country! I took delivery first full week of March. So although not guaranteed, the car will probably be with your dealer around 3-4 weeks after the estimated build. Clearly this will vary a lot!

Hi guys, I am from Poland and I found yours forum on google. I also would like to buy Ibiza FR 1.5 Red in Poland, but from April Seat cancel from Options Media System Plus 8' without Navi System, so you can choose between 6,5" for every version! Even ENTRY have same LCD what FR, this is Joke in my opinion!

I ordered my Ibiza one week ago, and today I have received calling from Dealer that they need to cancel my order because Media System Plus 8' without NaviSystem is not possible. I also try to check in GB configurator in Great Britain now is still 8' there without Navi but in Poland and Germany now is 6,5 and 8'. So you should look out because I suposse that also in your country can be same problem and you can order car with 8 media system plus but they will call for us and tell now it not possible.

Anyway in pricelist is new option, EcoLeather instead this Black Piano Cocpit color, do you have any photos with Alcantara Option? Any user?

My build week for my FR 95 in Med Blue with rear Park Sensors and Dual Zone Climate Control was also Week14 (w/c 02 April). I contacted my dealer today for an update and he came back to confirm it had arrived at the UK Port already and would be at the dealer within the week, all being well. Order was placed 1st March and we were quoted 14-16 weeks but that clearly has been hugely undercut!

Will post again when I’m taking delivery of the car....

Hello -and welcome!

I think in the UK the Media System Plus 8” has always only been available with the NaviSystem hasn’t it?

@woskin on here has the Alcantara interior I think; he’s posted some pictures here somewhere I think!

I have these tyres. When i first saw noticed they were Nexen tyres I pulled a face but they seem to be quite good and online reviews suggest they are pretty decent.

I Took delivery of my FR ST 150 diesel on Monday with the optional performance 30/3 18s, that came with Bridgestone potenzas, no idea if they're good or not? my last 15 plate Nissan juke came with Continentals and I had done 50k on 2 of them, I had switched the front 2 to the back around 20k miles, I had to replace the 2 I placed at the front around 45k, but 45-50k miles in 1 set of tyres, I'd say that was pretty good going, I had never ridden the car hard. It was a good motor, just very small.
