is it usual not to hear anything from the dealers? its been 5 weeks since I ordered and not heard a peep.

Seriously?

It appears to be fairly common. Most people who have had build week info etc. have had to contact their dealer to ask for an update.
That said, if there's no info to give, then there's not much point in the dealer phoning you every 5 minutes.....

The only thing that happens quite quickly is the order being accepted by the factory (which doesn't mean much). The next thing is an estimated build date. I ordered in February and still don't have one so I don't think it's unusual to not have an update after 5 weeks.

First post on here and 1st Seat Leon ordered last Sunday after pondering about it for over 12 months!!

I nearly had a stroke when I was told it was going to be a 30 week wait as I had seen on Carwow that the build time was 10 weeks. Gutted to be honest as I have been driving round in a clapped out Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI since I was born and was itching to get the Leon.

I've only gone basic really....1.4 EcoTsi 150 FR in Nevada White with standard wheels. Driver assist pack, Seat Sound and a sunroof. The dealer told me the long hold up is due to the new European Emissions testings they are bringing out that are to include more realistic and stricter quoted MPG figures.

This is the 1st ever new car I have ever purchased as well so have no idea as to when I will be told anything or what to expect but, reading through all the posts from the past 12 months on this thread, it looks more like I'll be getting it in January 19!!!!

Apologies if all this has been mentioned before but I'm glad I came across this thread as it seems the norm.

Good luck to all who are playing the waiting game!!

You should have ordered when you were thinking about it 12 months ago mate lol. Even car wows 10 week wait was very unrealistic. It'll be weeks, even months before you hear anything, but stick it out, it'll be worth it in the end!

If its any consolation mate, I had mine exactly 2 weeks before some arse hole lorry driver reversed into our 2 week old ST. Its currently being repaired.

Round 2....I’ll stay away from drink drivers this time!! Finally, convinced the insurance company to follow their own policy documents and replace the car. It’s been an uphill battle but I was so happy to get back into a Leon after having a 1.0ltr Astra for 2 months!

Congrats Luke! Been wondering how you were getting on. Was it a stock car? Same spec as before?

Great to see this post, Luke!

How does it match your original car in terms of spec?

Went into IMG Seat Warrington today as my step dad was ordering a new FR...luckily they have already ordered stock to be delivered in July so he'll be getting one of those, rather than waiting 20 weeks or whatever the lead time was!

I saw an orange Cupra outside though and I thought OMG I need one...they have an offer too at £280 deposit, £280 a month. But they told me to hold off ordering a Cupra because chances are the spec you order now won't be the spec you get next year, what with all the branding changes. I think I'm better listening to their advice to not order rather than just jumping in!

Still though, I have my 64 plate Cupra 280 so it's not all bad...

It won't be £280/280 though.

Really? My order got so messed up last year that the spec is no longer available.

I finally had an order placed for a DSG earlier this week as the manual I ordered last year is no longer available. I've been told December/January for delivery. I would not have expected any changes that early on. Especially with the MK4 being on the horizon.

No, but then I was thinking if I really wanted another contract hire and the answer is probably no - I got a loan for mine and I prefer the thought that when that's finished, I can do what I want with mine at the end. I would rather take out a PCP - although I know it will be slightly more expensive.

Yeah, they told me no more 3 door and no more manuals. All Cupras that are built now are made to order. He said that they're expecting with the re brand the new Cupra to include a lot more features, but the price will most likely change and they don't even know if the offer they provide now will still be valid at the end of the year.

To be honest I'm glad he told me this because it would have been very easy for him to get a sale out of me when I was there. After seeing the orange one sat outside I was ready to get my bank card out...

The rebrand would only affect the MK4 wont it?
Hopefully it will include the beats audio. I've read the infotainment unit will be class leading, and rivals the Tesla's offering.

I'm probably going to be a little dissapointed but i can't imagine the deals will be as good. It took a while for SEAT honour my deal with last weeks order, which was based on the £249 deposit and the £249 pcm from last year.

It's now at £289 for deposit and monthlies. At the end of the day I chose a CUPRA because of the value for money.

That's the thing, I don't think they even know yet. It sounded to me like Seat have been quite vague with the dealers as to when the rebranded Cupra will actually become available.

They said they will know more in July time, which coincidentally is when their deal ends. I have heard the rumours about the new Cupra model too, but it's probably all just marketing speak...
