I'll cross check with the Ateca one in the day light :). Looks a nice shape.

Did it get the down spot light with the panoramic roof which got deleted. Although panoramic unit has nice light controls on it for the Ateca it doesnt have a downlight which illuminates the controls. I'd have to check a Kodiaq and Allspace parts on the panoramic roof. Non panoramic Xcellences get the down light.

Thanks.

The top picture looks similar to the one in the Ateca... don't see any down light there unless it's hidden. We don't get the back plate with the SOS... guess it's now a SIM infortainment unit to do that with the SIM slot in the glove box to enable that, too risky to rely on having a mobile connected unless it warns you, you have no SOS functionality or doesnt light up etc. The other two pictures I can't see it there.

So now into the VAG parts game looking at Kodiaqs and AllSpaces that could have similar parts. Reckon it doesnt have the down light spot lights from that unless hidden mounting.

Interesting with the Mib2.5 as I believe it's called with the gesture controls whether Seat might give up with using Mapcare to generate income. Whether all Mib2.5 units are like VW and Skoda where you can update it yourself or whether Seat will still have units manufactured which need Mapcare to do the update yourself and Seat UK won't support it. With digital dash people will be grinding their teeth when the maps become out of date if they can't update the maps themselves. Android Auto people are happy with jumpy maps.

Thanks for the informative review and doing the front leg test for me when there :).

From the German YouTube review in English there did seem to be a question of what did you do with the under floor space if you had 5 seats rather than 7, since that space would be behind the spare if you elected that (which is sensible)... unless everything is pushed back I can't see how you would use the space under collapsed seat unless I've missed something.

The normal Seat Ateca question of the understore area... getting it right at the time of order, least they have removed one variable (5 seats). Without looking at the Kodiaq and AllSpace specs one of them only comes in 7 seat form in the UK, think it's the Allspace with the Kodiaq giving you both or may be the other way round.

Have Seat UK given up on being King Cnut on Mapcare and Updates. The whole of the Mib2.5 High is around integrating POI uploads and map updates over 4G via their systems, ditto Skoda plus digital connectivity. With the digital dash it would be pure daft to say we're not supporting Mapcare / providing unlimited updates as VW and Skoda do in the UK. Daft and petty. If you are spending all of that money on a top end Infotainment system you do expect to be able to updated it yourself as the rest of Europe does.

On the colours did Seat say which were existing Seat colours and which were new.

Dark Camouflage, Oryx White, Reflex Silver, Atlantic Blue, Indium Grey, Titanium Beige, Deep Black and Urano Grey.

I don't recognise Dark Camouflage and Titanium Beige ?. What colour was that launch car in, the one that takes on the green hue ?.

When the configurator arrives you can pick the paint codes up off the generated PDF and seek out those colours on other VAG brands. Interesting Indium Grey appears on VWs as well.

I have had email chat with SEAT UK CEO today about mapcare, I did mention it to him on Tuesday night but the conversation got off track.

He needs Lane Assist on Mapcare. It's only Seat UK that is being silly on it, Ireland have had it for years and whole nature of it has changed now to it being bunged in with VW and Skoda in the UK.... VAG group own a third or so of Here Maps it isnt as if they dont control the company.... Saving grace may be that VAG group wont want to make the Mib2.5 Pro without Mapcare... I hope so then the finances of it will sort it out.

The full reveal will be in Tarragona outside Barcelona on 18th September of the Tarraco

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/new-seat-tarraco-seven-seat-suv-be-revealed-september

So one can expect plenty of press coverage after on the net.
The reveal has been so exciting, I like how when you go onto brands websites, you can register your interest! I want to be the first person to buy a Tarraco, I love them!

My dealer was keen that I'd filled the Seat screens in :). Basically unlike the Ateca it won't be a staggered release where Europe gets it first so there won't be left hand cars going around the dealers in pre launch. Haven't heard an answer about the availability of Mapcare. Any news anyone ?.

In the UK you can only get it with 7 seats. I don't think it has any usable space under the back row of seats so all we loose in the UK and with the 7 seater over the 5 seater is the kids arm rests which are built into the 7 seater (that's where the cubic variation goes that you see on Seat's launch site graphic of how the seats work). The third back row is for children even thou adult male reviewers like to (try to) sit in the rear - kids will be kids and all that.

That's my reading on how the 7 v 5 seater comes out in reality.
