Does anyone know the difference between

5Q0955547A And 5Q0955547B???

I have looked at a friends car and they have auto lights and wipers as standard and their sensor ends in B however the one I’ve bought aftermarket was ending in A. I think this could be the reason mine is being temperament??

Any assistance would be appreciated

B is just an updated A, either should work

I got this same switch from the same seller. They have been helpful however as it’s a different code to what I have replaced also it’s an upgrade I haven’t had any further advise.

I think it’s something to do with coding in vcds as auto lights work ok and wipers, it’s the welcome lights and going home lights as they sometimes work sometimes not? In the vcds coding you can adjust the light sensitivity however it won’t let you move up from 0 ?? I would want to move to 40 or 60%

I used carista to turn on home light things and just coming home work fine. Both visible on car menu settings.

I can set the time 10,20,30 seconds etc for the welcome/going home lights. My concern is that the welcome lights don’t come on all the time ? Unless it’s pitch black they don’t come on ? I have them on high sensitivity but at dusk it doesn’t do anything? I think it’s to do with the vcds coding??

I work with VCDS, but this should not be the problem.
Do you solved this error?
Did you need more information’s?

At the moment I have installed the sensor number 5Q0 955 547 B.
Also I have the sensor number 81A 955 555 A, but here is the same problem.
My original air quality sensor has the number 81A 907 658.

Sorry for my English
Thanks

Hello Norbert, the error "940292 sensor for sunlight" you get away by doing the following coding:
  • Control unit 09
  • IDE08786-ENG124476-Assist Light Functions-Sun Sensor, installed change 2 not installed (translated from de to en)
This sensor is now installed in the light/rain sensor, but the actual function should already work.

Hi Astaller

Thanks for the reply!

I will try tomorrow. I tried before turn off things back to original and led front light fault happened.

I had trouble with follow/leave home light but that work fine now.

Now I solved my error in control unit 08...
But this works only with the sensor part number 81A955555A (coding 00885D).
This sensor reports as a sub-control unit 81A 955 555 A - G397_RLFSS (I think this means Rain Light Humidity Sun Sensor).
With the sensor part number 5Q0955547B I have the error see above, no matter with which coding...

The adaption IDE08786-ENG124476-Assistance light functions-Sunlight Sensor has to be set to his original setting -> installed

Yes, I have done this.
You need a cable set for this if not already available.
You need an framless automatically dimming interior mirror.
I bought one from VW Touran or Golf on eBay, part number: 3G0857511AD or 3G0857511BD.
The cable must be placed in the driver's footwell by the rear-view mirror above the headliner.
There it is connected to the onboard power supply control unit J519.

Howdy, Ive just done this mod on our 2016 FR, Everything is now working apart from the "coming home" lights. Im using OBDeleven, have tried changing the setting from "Drivers Door" to "Igntion Off" but its still not playing. Time is set to 30 seconds for both coming & leaving home in the car menu & confirmed in OBDeleven.

Any suggestions on where Im going wrong?

Thanks all for the writeup BTW, I did a google search some months back, just out of interest if it were possible to retro-fit the auto lights & wipers, found this thread, now £45 later (not including OBDeleven) its all working. Superb :)

Hi, here a VCDS coding instructions, but in German.
But should not be a problem or?

Or see this post...

You also have to code the sub-controller RLS according to your car.
I think for the Seat Leon it is: 00885D

The pre-facelift model and the facelift model differ in the coding.

Thanks for the advice, but its OBDeleven Im using. Could only code the sensor in as RLHS.

Will ponder some more..

Weird. Just seems to have started working :) must have reset something without realising.

Now I just need to adjust the light sensitivity as the headlamps are on all the time unless it's bright sunlight

Mine was same but after factory reset started working.
