Whilst playing with OBDeleven at my car I noticed an entry for MirrorLink which obviously on my Full Link enabled car was active.

I was wondering if this (I didn’t search for Apple Car Play) is inactive in cars that do not have Full Link and it could be enabled.

I am aware Full Link is dealer activated, but is it actually? Or could further checking confirm Full Link activation by OBDeleven?

Not using those instructions but there are lots of bits that have no description in Control Unit 19 so you never know.

With regards to Full Link I am pretty sure this is a SWAP enabled function so it needs dealer input.
But as always happy to be proved wrong.

Might be worth checking out. I’ll see if anyone at work has a “donor” car with Full Link not activated.

Thats how we all learn mate, have a go and see what happens.

I am still playing with door mirrors only opening when I put in the ignition key but close when I lock the car.

I read on the OBD Forum that it can be coded to work that way but after the car has been off for a period of time, i.e. parked up overnight or at work etc, the coding resets itself back to opening on door unlock

This has been confirmed to work on a FL Leon (2017) by closing and opening the car and starting the engine.

I can not confirm if it resets after the car has been locked and opened after a prolonged closure.

I think that is on the Newer models, it works on mine but the mirrors open then close when I open the door.

Joys of VW Cars.

Yep that is how mine is set, it does work but ever time I open the car the mirrors unfold and then refold.

Do you have Kessy by any chance

No I don’t have Kessy.

I made the changes and then locked the car - Mirrors Folded.

Opened the car - Mirrors did not move.

Started the car - Mirrors Unfolded.

I did not test by locking the car and leaving it for a period of time to see if the Mirrors unfolded on unlocking the car after it has been sat a while.

olding mirrors with a touch control
With this mod, mirrors will fold without having to be continually pressing the button on the remote.
1 - Module 09 - Electronic. Code (31347)

I tried doing this yesterday, but got an error when attempting to apply the change. Any idea why this would happen?

@Harber96 what car do you have (year please as well).

When you say you got an error, what was the error
I have a 2015 FR150 Tech Pack.

The error was a strange one. It stated something along the lines of 013:Unable to perform action (or something similar, I can confirm later).
Im not entirely sure if the error lies within the mirror fold section however, as when I tried to apply the factory I got the same error.
I also had to refresh the app afterwards as I could no longer access the 'Access Control 2' section after seeing this

First thing I would do is clear the app data if you did not do that as part of the refresh.

Then I presume if you hold your lock button down the mirrors do close

I should have mentioned that I only got the app yesterday, and it was my first time using it. I managed to apply a few changes already, however I had issues with the below 2 changes:
  • Test dial sweep - Works after I activate it, and works once I turn off the ignition and test it. However when I disconnect the OBD it no longer works. When I plug the OBD in, it states it is still active which has now cost me 20C more as I had to de-activate/re-activate to see if the issues reoccurs. It only works once I have done this, and then stops working again once the OBD is disconnected
  • Single click mirror folding - I used the 'Try me 5C' to access the Access Control 2 option that houses the mirror folding. Once I change it to the correct option and try to submit the change, I get an error message, and it will not let me apply the change. However, when I try to change anything else as a test it also says the same.
You are right in that I have the functionality to fold the mirrors already by holding the button, however for whatever reason I still cannot change to the single click.
Is it still worth clearing the app data first?

When odd stuff happens I always do app cache clear first just to rule it out.
