The next job was installing the springs i found a set for a really good price second hand that came with new drop links (handy for spares)
https://www.flickr.com/photos/158705908@N03/,

Now this job can be a real utter pain in the arse mainly due to the design of the top mounts they contain the thread for the bolts surrounded in rubber :clap:so what happens when things get rusty over time they just seize and spin
2 came out easily less be said for the other that needed careful grinding to remove them (3- 4 hour job)

action shot

Also fitted powerlex anti lift kit
https://www.flickr.com/photos/158705908@N03/,

https://www.flickr.com/photos/158705908@N03/,

This kit is very well made the quality is right up there , the only thing i was worried about is not feeling much of a difference once fitted as the leon mk2 cupra has aluminium wishbones and solid (void-less) rear wishbone console bushes as standard
overall the handling has improved pretty well the stability under braking was the most noticeable difference im guessing due to the anti lift kit

Did you go for the 200 cell cat or 100? I assume you also went in with a hot exhaust hence the melting lol
200 cell yeah i wanted the car to be as hot as possible to give me a better chance haha , was so embaressing having the tester come out and say your car has broke the machine

Haha they say that the 100 only just passes with a red hot exhaust so just scrapping through with the 200 is not ideal lol I assume you have the sound you want out the exhaust now?

I fitted the SuperPro Antilift kit and I think that sort of thing like a front splitter should of been factory standard lol as well as most of mods haha

Thats what i thought maybe the down-pipe is 100 cell as that was second hand as well yeah it sounds a lot better really throaty and zarrpy if that makes sense lol
I agree with the anti lift kit the car feels so much more stable under braking also more eager in the corners

Sounds like she needs a track day now to start using all that stuff you have had fitted.

The car is as always looking good and i am sure there are many so called fast cars who wonder what left them behind.

Out of interest how difficult were the old bushes to get off for the anti lift kit, ive heard they can be a bit of a pig to remove... either that or they just fall off...

They can be a pain mate mine took a bit of persuasion to pull off twisting and pulling at the same time , fitting the new ones is tight id recommend a big rubber mallet and some force also make sure the new bolts line up correctly .

Great, thanks for the headsup... I can see much cursing and tools being thrown about in my future! lol

Such a great car this, as ive said the best of the body kits and this is a great example.

Genuine R8 Coil packs now in i would advise these to be brought from Audi themselves or aks tuning as a lot of sellers buy in non genuine ones
06E905115E or 07L905115A are genuine part numbers for the red coilpacks R8

Also after loosing my gears when going into 3rd i found out one of the gear selector cables had come off the relay
a quick solution to make sure it doesnt come off again drill a tiny hole and fit a small split pin

Looking good!! Agree, hate doing front suspension on Leons!! But also love the anti-lift kit!

You'll have to let us know how you get on with the short shifter. I bought the forge one previously and didn't like it so took it off. I've circled over buying this a few times, but am scared after my previous experience:

That APR shifter looks so good ! :O

I ended up going for the eBay shifter for the money and reviews it gets i thought yeah what the hell :)
Hanson,

also a trip to b&q to get a shiny 5mm nail for the gear cable adjustment (haven't done the adjustment yet)
,

The shifter is okay but i was expecting more to be honest , im guessing there is no massive difference due to the accuracy relay staying untouched so i may look into getting that side sorted also the shifter bushes

**Update on the K1 **

Mainly just been enjoying the car recently :)

In the last few weeks shes had a fair few bits fitted after passing the mot with no probelms

Now running Yokohama advan sports all round ( very good tyres for the money )

https://www.flickr.com/photos/158705908@N03/
Shortly after i had the car booked into rtech for there carbon clean /injector clean
,
i didn't manage to take a picture of the valve's but they were caked also one of the runner flap metal slots had collapsed .
to say i felt faint would be a understatement ... get your tfsi done buy rtech or anyone offering the walnut blasting /injector service just to be sure your cars engine is 100%

Pip at rtech remembered the car whilst doing the health check not having a sports cat down-pipe fitted on my last visit (stage 1 map)
this meant it had to be put on the rolling road for a small adjustment to suit the new hardware i fitted after the map last year .this brought to attention a problem with the downpipe ! the sports cat was presumed to be blocked holding the car back massively power wise :(
niki being the great guy he is tried his best to get the most out of the car as it was until it was time to call it a day .....
the lads strongly recommended a new downpipe then come back as soon as i can.
so then this beauty was purchased
,
i love miltek exhausts there quality has always been spot on for me , also i was glad to see they are now using oem style flexi this reduces stress on the pipe
so for now it was a case of installing the new downpipe and waiting to see when a slot became available at rtech

The next jobs on the list was to fit the vis internals for the high pressure fuel pump also 5mm drill mod to the pump
[When installing the internals please make sure you fit them in a clean environment also replace the cam-follower for a new genuine one inc o-ring as the new internals will wear differently to the old ]
instructions can be downloaded via pdf file on there website
https://www.vismotorsport.com/vismotorsportinstallation
,

Whilst the pump was being upgraded its a good time to install the RS4 fuel pressure valve
part number 079130757 price is usally around £50
,
https://www.flickr.com/photos/158705908@N03/
This part was by far the most time consuming to fit due to the position under the inlet manifold
a good set of slim crows foot sockets are highly recommended
,
https://www.flickr.com/photos/158705908@N03/
All back on after loads of swearing and brused knuckles
,
https://www.flickr.com/photos/158705908@N03/
next up rtech for map tweek :)

A fair few more bits done to the k1

Turbosmart boost gauge inc Apr boost tap full kit [resistor fitted to reduce the blinding effect]
,

,

Installed the new downpipe and a set of ngk iridium bkr7eix plugs, the car already feels like its breathing 10 times better:drive1:

Then i noticed the rear end was squealing like crazy due to a seized caliper so a new one was quickly installed , luckily i changed the pads recently so they were all good ..caliper bled/checked over and back on the road
,

On a slightly dim day that looked like the heavens would open up at any minute i decided to have a look at the layout of the oem intercooler , do some measuring up etc for when i fit the wellycooler.
the amount of dirt and crap on the cooler was pretty bad , a quick blow out and clean i must of re gained a few horses

,

Next up the k1 was back into Rtech for a slight change in plan.......Stage 2+
,

Already the car sounded different once on the rolling road doing a few pulls the exhaust note roared rather than the chocking sound it was making on the previous visit , after the session niki has now made the k1 an absolute animal boost comes in crazy hard and the engine just keeps pulling and pulling (also a few pops between gear changes ) :)
357 bhp 391 ft-lb
for now the power is plenty more than enough and puts a huge grin on my face , but i will be back next year after the welly cooler is on and up-rated clutch/flywheel so i can go even further .

Anyone wanting to go to R-tech or any tuning company for map work please make sure your thermostat has been replaced and the temp reads 90 and stays there , the last 3 times i have been on all occasions at least one person had a failed stat . :)

Recent updates to the K1

Replacement of both rear wheel bearings due to the car sounding more like a b-17 bomber thundering away

,

Took a half decent look inside the turbo end of my old Miltek sports cat with a bore scope (battery's were very low hence the low brightness screen).
Ive still yet to get hold of a better more updated bore-scope maybe with HD video

,

This strange blockage was holding back nearly 30bhp

,

A look inside the rear end perfect

,

Who else just loves having a white car in winter :) always check ( if possible ) when buying second hand parts or go even better and save to buy new
