Thanks. Most of the contact with the dealer has been by email. I work nights so not normally able to ring during the day. They had been replying, but not for the last week or so.

Have you had anything back off them yet mate :( really is annoying, happy to take your money but not even give a simple message back

Nope, not heard diddly squat from them
That is shocking mate seriously! Really does bring on the meaning of happy to take your money but not to help you afterwards....

Have you not heard anything Since? Would have been about 10 days since I asked last, if they haven't then that is disgraceful :(.

Chased my dealer this week asking for an update on the ETA of the wheel as before the End of Dec is what I was told but nothing further, so just wondered if they had further info or tracking on it.

I spoke to SEAT Customer services last week and he basically said "why are you ringing us, what do you want SEAT to do about it?". At this point i lost my rag, and to cut a long story short he phoned the dealer while i waited on the phone. The dealer how now escalated it to Area manager. Thats about it really.

Seriously?

I suppose in a way the agent was right; your contract is between you and your dealership/leasing co, not SEAT UK.
That however doesn't alter the fact that it was the factory that screwed up, not your dealer and doesn't alter the fact that's a pretty dire example of customer service.

Annoyed myself now -.- , asked dealer for an Update on the Wheel's ETA after Initially being told it would be there for around the 20th Dec this is now "we don't have an ETA and judging by the way it is currently it we Hope to hear before the end of December" so now looking at the New Year before the dealer even knows where it is :/ not their fault but its seriously annoyed me as I'll have had the car 3 months then without what was specc'd.

I had held off contacting Seat UK to request a Goodwill gesture because I'd hoped it would be done before Christmas but its not looking like that now, you guys think I should call up and request some form of Goodwill for the Waiting and Chasing?

I would wait until they sort the wheel out first and then ask for a gesture, otherwise they’ll chuck you £200 without any word and probably cancel the order of the steering wheel

That's just appalling.
Any chance they're ignoring you in the hope you'll get bored and go away?:censored:
I’m not doing this to gloat I’m doing it to let you know that you can get it done, I’ve had my paddles since December as I spoke to seat customer care and they ordered the replacement wheel straight away, I also got £500 compensation in total, half from the dealer and half from seat, I would just keep pestering and pushing them

Thanks for the info. ive been passed from person to person. Im on my 5th person at the dealers, ive also been passed to SeatProduct, Customer Quality and Customer Care, who said it wasnt their problem.

Closest ive come so far is a email from CustomerQuality with details on how to order the correct wheel at a cost of over £370, that i can claim back through goodwill SAGA/2. Also says goodwill is £250 and a reference to Hub article SE0963-18. How this helps me, god only knows.....lol

Personally I don’t think I would have taken the car away, at least not without conformation in writing of the outcome to be resolved, once you’re out the door! Who knows!

We picked up our 2.0 FR last week and it had paddles. Your car should have paddles if it was built after week 46. Our car was built week 50.

Pleased you got them! Yeah mine's the 2.0 as well, FR Sport. Not sure when it was built, as it is a stock one... we will have to see!

Edit: Confirmed with dealership, my car has them. Phew!

Update!

So, nearly 18 weeks after starting this thread, the dealer rang to say the new steering wheel has been ordered and will be fitted next week. Along with £250 of goodwill. Over the moon.

For those of you without the paddles, push the dealer. Dont let them fob you off with just the goodwill.

Finally.... :drive1::1st:
