Made a big difference having the dogbone connected :D no surprise there. Treated the old girl to a wash polish and wax with the Auto Finese kit I forgot I had! I’d say it’s better than the Chemical Guys stuff I’ve used before and the polish and wax was easier to apply too. And fitted the £5.99 lip splitter too :)

Replaced the secondary water pump - big difference Bosche one flowed 530 litres per hour this new one 700. Replaced upper hard pipe to inter cooler boost hose. Not sure about this one - It comes from MKPerformancehose on the bay of evils, they say they are UK made, quality seems to be good but the hose is softer than I would have liked and when fitted has deformed a little bit (squashed) . Will have to see how it goes.

If im not mistaken its only the tip under negative pressure so all others are ok 2 squash its ballooning you need to watch out for, the reinforced pipes should hold the positive pressure

Funny you say that lol

So since ive bought my first home and sorted my wedding out ive discovered wag funds i had left over....

Bought myself a a3 8p sportback tdi 170 quattro

1 prev owner , recent clutch and flywheel along with cambelt and new haldex control unit so all the big bills are done with

Going to wait a year or 2 while i sort the house out before i go back to a petrol hot hatch plus side is i got the a3 at a very reasonable price so it was a bargain not to be missed , its absolutely faultless considering it has 110k on it

Removed, clean and reset my brake light switch.

Now I don't have to stamp on the pedal to cancel cruise control and as a another plus don't have other drivers almost rear-ending me.

No wonder I struggled getting one of the calliper slider pins off! And thank god for amazon prime for being able to deliver replacements for tomorrow.

More of a what have you done this week.... had new clutch fitted (Stage 2 Black Diamond Kevlar one) has a better feel than the original LUK one that was in there and showed signs of slippage. Washed it Friday and then my tree decided to drop its entire pollen quota for the year on it :banghead2. Oh and whilst the clutch was being changed had the gearbox swapped out for another one with some drugs in it of the WaveTrac form... a bit less of this now :drive1:

My God that sounds great! Wavetrac and a bit upgraded on the tranny. What's in it? Better selector rods? You still running the DMF? The tree just wanted to prove to you Murphy's Law

I picked it up second hand already done, the box was built three years ago by a road and race transmission company. I also have the invoice for the LSD from Awesome GTi. The gearbox was just reconditioned and has an uprated end bearing and new thrust bearing + shim mod + LSD.

Yep still running standard flywheel, the Black Diamond kit comes with a new pressure plate and friction disc. This is the third tuned car I'm running one in and have never had an issue with clutch slip or DMF at all (my other two were tuned diesel's).

To be honest around town you can't feel I've just spent a fortune on all this (except around roundabouts) the gearbox is smooth and the clutch is lighter, but next week at Bedford will be the fun time.

Tree's .... :stick:
