Cheers

Hello mate,
Thanks for the breakdown, very useful.
I recently hit a pheasant in my FR ..of course dead centre of front grill.
I am now getting front assist not available etc.
The sensor doesn’t look to be damaged, but there seems to be a little up/ down play if I press on it.
Did you buy a new mounting bracket?
Also was it difficult to reset fault codes?
I have obd eleven pro coming this week so
wondering if that will do the job?

The sensor itself seemed ok in my case, but the plastic supports, from cover and mount piece were shattered. So they required replacing. I used Carista to reset the fault codes and it has worked well (ish) since then. I do appear to have another problem related to my front lights that will disable the front assist after around a few minutes of driving though... haven’t bothered to get round to fixing that yet.

Depending on how much space there is in the grille to fiddle, it might be worth checking to see whether the connector at the bottom is dislodged too.

Yes you can, I had to do that to replace it, however, in my case it was very fiddly, due to the shape of the clips used to secure it. Given I was getting rid of my old one I eventually took a hacksaw to the middle piece so I could get my hand round to detach the clips.

That being said I don’t believe you need to bother to remove it, as the plastic part of the lip effectively ends at the point it meets the lower grille, so I’d be inclined to leave it and wrap up to the intersect between the lip and the grille.

That does looks good

Is that a Rieger splitter too? I’m getting one of them but can’t decide on gloss or matte

I’ve been quoted £45 to wrap the lip

I tried it myself last night and made an arse of it

@k290b....I know what you mean when you say that, I managed to wrap the front S badge and the red part on the Cupra flag but I kid you not it was not easy. Yeah it’s the Rieger front splitter, I have the rear diffuser as well in the gloss blk it’s a kind of colour theme I’m going for if you know what I mean.

Thanks Yes it generally seems intact and connected. I will have a crack at
It later in the week when the unit arrives.
I definitely don’t want to be paying out for a recalibration!

Washed it and use a new ceramic coating, again cheap crap but I’m happy trying new things, this one gives good initial results...

Used pro kleen snow foam, maguiars tyre gel and the cheap coating quoted above. Decent results.

No need to remove the grille, with a plastic card the film can be tucked into the grille.

Little tip, if you are doing it yourself use some felt and tape it to the end of the card, stops scratching or cutting the film.

Near Heathrow
Changed my wheels front to rear/rear to front to even out tyre wear as I like to change all four tyres when the time comes to renew them.
Fronts were about 4mm and rears about 5mm at 14500 miles. Had to use a sledge hammer on the inside of rims as the wheels were seized on. Used a wire brush to clean the corrosion off the hubs and inside the wheels then applied some anti-seize titanium grease, hopefully they won't seize again. Also checked the brake pads front and rear, less than half worn. I noticed that my car doesn't have pad wear sensors (16 MY, FR ST 1.4 Act). Also checked the shocks to make sure there was no sign of leaks or 'misting', all perfectly dry.

K290b...nice one you won't regret it. I know they don't come cheap but they look the mutts nutts. The rear diffuser looks great too. Don't forget to post some pics when you've installed it please.

Not what I’ve done, but brought a rear badge (flag etc) and wondered if anyone had any measurements or could take a square on pic of the rear of their Cupra Leon Hatch?

Much appreciated in advance!
