Hmm, that's weird. Truth is that I got slight condensation in the headlights from day one when I first washed the car but that's more or less to be expected. Of course it isn't of the extent of yours but maybe I should keep an eye on it when it's raining or during the carwash.

I guess Seat will replace it no questions asked but still it's kind of a bummer.

It's a common issue with this model.

I had SEAT assist out this morning for my headlight issue. They have confirmed it needs a new headlight unit and taken it to the garage. They have also arranged for a Golf R for me as a courtesy car.

I have to say SEAT assist have been great and all this was sorted out in a couple of hours.

Let us know how the Golf R compares ;)

I really don't like the Golf. The suspension is far to hard, the boot to small and it just does not seem to have any character.
Don't get me wrong it's quick, but I would take mine any day of the week. Going to chase the garage today for an update.

Interesting...how does the interior/cockpit compare?

Today I put it in cupra mode in my garage again (underground) to hear if there is any difference in sound as I now have around 2300KMs on the odometer (like 1700 or so miles).
The difference is huge! It now sounds like a proper sports car. Pops and bangs are rich and loud, I will record it next time

I am getting the hump with the SEAT Garage. They have had my car since last Friday. SEAT wanted them to clean the headlight and try to get the condensation out, but they couldn't so they have fitted a new one. Now they have to change the light module as they have discovered today it is soaking wet. Why they didn't spot that when they first inspected the light god only knows.

They have also today decided to change the infotainment unit as they have reviewed the video's I took into them on Monday of it freezing. I did ask why it has taken them so long to get to that even though they have had the car since Friday!!!

I have told them I want it back tomorrow as I have only had it 2 weeks and they have had it for a week of that. I know I have a replacement Golf R from Seat, but I just want my own car back so I can enjoy it. :censored:

About the whole Full Link crashing ordeal; I narrowed the Android Auto crashes down to when your phone battery is full. I really don't know why this would even be an issue... It seems VAG desperately needs some proper software engineers.

Did a test today, starting the trip with 94% battery in the phone. Everything was fine until it hit 100%, it then crashed and kept crashing... Restarting the head unit or the phone does not resolve the issue.
This sucks especially for long trips, since the phone charges when connected...

-- EDIT --

I've done some additional research, and it seems this issue isn't limited to VAG or any particular Android phone. It seems that when a phone reaches 100% charge, it resets the USB connection to stop the charging (preventing battery damage). This reset, however, disconnects it from the head unit and leads to Android Auto crashing. The phone will continue to charge up to 100% and stop charging, causing the endless crashes we're experiencing.
So far I haven't found a fix for this...

Mine crashes as soon as I connect my iphone and doesn't matter how much charge it has. I took some video's and the dealer has agreed it's not right and is changing the unit. It works fine with no problems on the replacement Golf R.

I'm not sure if it happens to all Android phones, some say it's only USB-C equipped phones that have the issue, and some say it's got something to do with fast charging phones. Cable quality is also still on the table.

I occasionally have an issue with Bluetooth calling. The call screen pops up on the infotainment unit but freezes even after the call has ended. I have to turn off the engine to get my infotainment unit back.

I haven't had it in the R yet but it doesn't happen all the time in the Cupra.

I've never had that happen to me before... Did you try resetting the head unit instead? You can do that by long pressing (and I mean very long) the head unit power button. This can be done while driving, so it saves you the hassle of pulling over.

I do this every day and I have zero crashes (MIB2 Nav std). I get in the car every morning with 90-95% battery since I charge it all night and until I go to work it gets fully charged. Had only one crash in the past 3.5 months that I have got the car and the phone was not even connected.

Samsung S10+ that is and previously S9+.

I've tried long pressing, but it may not have been long enough. The unit came back on with the frozen call screen.

It also shows the frozen call screen in the Digital cockpit.

I must say that the digital cockpit in the Cupra is miles better.

Very interesting... I have an S10 (the non-plus), and mine always disconnects when the battery is full. What cable are you using? I'm using a very short (10cm) USB-C cable that came with my old Nexus 6P.
