Hey people the amount of time I've drove my lcr over humps pot holes uneven roads and I have to say the ride is rough the hole car shakes and it ain't comfortable so my question is is there any coilovers or suspension upgrade to make it better than stock ?

I’ve ordered kw Clubsport 2 ways for mine as the spax ones that are on are not too clever. I don’t like how they ride.

Need like adjustable dampers etc that stock suspension is terrible plus I've got a cupra 290 and the ride in that is so comfortable jus want a better ride in my mk1 plus will be forging that soon

What do you use the mk1 for? I bought as best suspension I could afford to buy. Mine is a full track car so Clubsports were a track focused suspension. Has adjustable dampening and rebound and height and camber. They’re pretty trick but you expect that for £2k.

This was my choice initially till I raided the piggy bank. Heard a lot of good things about these for road and track.

I've owned the mk1 for like 5 years now and to.keep it insured is a extra 100 quid for the year on my multi car policy so just the tax kills me on it plus I drive that during the week and I use my cupra 290 weekends

I was on stock shocks and H&R springs.
Ride was firm but not too bad.
On track i was breaking traction
Mid corner and early on exit and car skitted through the corners.
Changed to BC Racing coilovers BR series.
What a difference.
On track they are brilliant.
Turn in and mid corner grip is massively improved.
Exit I’m on the power earlier and less wheel hop.
On the road they are firm.
( still factory setting which is 8 clicks from fully firm )
As with most coilovers, pot holes etc are never nice to hit but they are not crashy and bumpy.
I recon put to a softer setting I could use them as a daily for sure and I’m no spring chicken with a screwed back.
On half decent tarmac they are great.
Height and damping adjustment with quality build for about 800 quid.

Badger5 Custom Map + TIP,
3”Custom exhaust, FMIC, Bosh 550’s, BC Coilovers, ARB’s +loads more.

That's bc racing coilovers I'm more of a road user than track to be fair but sounds good and 800 is not bad price

I’d hope so at that price.

I have a friend with a 172 clio that had some entry level Coilovers (no need to brand drop) and then changed to some more track focused Coilovers. We’re taking £800 to then new set £2500.

He knocked 2-3 seconds off his lap times consistently and when other clios are on track against him he has everyone asking what engine mods etc he’s done because he is so much faster yet they don’t realise he’s just carrying his speed better.

In my eyes I only wanted to buy suspension once. That’s why I’ve opted after much research for the Clubsports. My car is a track car only so road going wasn’t an issue.

There are some really good sets out there for road and track use I don’t think you’ll be upset with anything £800wise compared to stock.

HA HA, Now you need to look at the KW DCC Coilover kit for your 290
Just getting the stage one done on the 290 from revo will get the bhp to about 350 to 370 cant wait plus not keeping more than 2 years will be selling but the mark 1 I'm keeping for good they are getting rare
