That's a lovely looking fr , both the Ibiza and Leon Fr look great in this colour and this is my big problem I have.
I currently have the 1.2 Leon and want to upgrade in 6 weeks time . I've been looking at the 150ps Leon Fr but this Ibiza is superb and now that there is only 2 of us I might be tempted by the slightly smaller car. Ideally the same as yours pocket_buddy (115 Fr) or that lovely metallic red. Just completed a long journey in the Leon and fine , just wondered what these Ibizas are like on longer journeys . We do 6+ trips to Cornwall each year but in total about 8k.
So before I test drive both have any Ibiza owners gone from a Leon to a Ibiza ?

Nope, but I've had the both 1.2 and then the 1.0 TSI and the 1.0 is horrid in comparison. You really should test drive it.

That's interesting that you don't like the 1.0 , even the 115 ? Have you perhaps had higher performing cars in the past ? My car last year was a fiesta st-2 with 180bhp and now have the Leon with 105bhp but despite the power drop I still kinda like it hence looking in the middle with 150 for the Leon. But the looks and generally excellent reports of the 115 Ibiza have made it also a contender but you are right a 'thorough' test drive is important.

I guess you have the 1.2 8V in the Leon. Driving that and the 1.0 is like night and day. Who took all the torque away?

It's the 1.2 16v 2013 mk3 so only 105hp , just before the 2014 model with 110. So not that torquey but adequate.

I'd love an Ibiza Mk6, but not until it has a decent engine option. After nearly 2 years, I still loathe my current 1.0tsi.

Oh you still have it? both FR2013 and myself, have already bid ta ta to the 1.0EcoTSI. I do miss the economy though...but strangely..in a Volvo V40 that weighs nearly 1450 kg, the 1.5T 152PS engine, only feels marginally quicker than the 1140kg 1.0TSI 110PS Ibiza. With the 2.0TDI 150PS Leon I had before, now that FELT fast...esp on accleration..

I haven’t really had a chance to give it a good go on long runs yet, but I have been impressed with my shorter commute runs. Mind you, it’s 21 miles from my home to work each morning. I can’t really speak from a point of view of having higher performance cars to be fair mind, but I certainly don’t have much problem with the amount of power. It’s a compromise for the type of driving I do, I really need to keep the fuel consumption down. I like that Seat can offer a good sports version of the Ibiza with a car that’s good on the wallet.

I went from the 16v 1.2 90PS in my old 2016 Fabia to the 1.0 115PS in the Ibiza. I like the 1.0. The 1.2 is a bit more drivable but I'm averaging about 5mpg better in the Ibiza despite the bigger car and more power. Over the weekend I drove from Manchester to London (in awful traffic), then to Wiltshire, and then back to Manchester. Averaged 57mpg, car was very comfortable although I would recommend getting ACC, it's awesome.

Agreed on mpg...I did Lon to Manchester A12>A406>M1>M6>Manchester airport (ok, there was very low traffic on a Sat AM), 2 long streches of 50mph roadworks zones...did 57mpg over 200 miles. 1 person in car. Return leg, with +2 additional ppl plus 2 suitcases, slightly more traffic, plus some fun 'foot flat' overtaking on single carrigeway, 54mpg.

On the same journey up my 2.0TDI would do just around 60mpg

I've only felt the car needing more power if I have more than 3 people. Once I had 5 people plus luggage, then I wished I had a 150PS car.

Currently averaging about 46mpg on my commute. Pretty happy with that. Hopefully get a chance soon to give it a long run and see how it does.
