Brake advice needed

Afternoon all,

I took the opportunity to clean and lube the rear brake sliders this morning (due to slight outer/Inner disc corrosion starting) and whilst I was at it thought I'd check the front brakes over. I noticed the inside of the front discs have corroded due to the pads not fully touching. I'm planning on replacing the front discs and pads due to this but before I do thought I'd see what the general opinion is. The car has done 45k and the brakes are original. It's a 184 FR for reference.
Thanks for your advice/opinions in advance :)

P.s. should the front pads have a slot down the centre as a wear marker? Obviously if they should have they definitely need replacing. The back pads do.

Nothing there looks at all wrong, plenty of material left on the pads and the disks are fine. Only if they are running out (thinning) do you need to replace the disks, if you want them shiny then do some hard braking at high speed.

The pads don't make contact over the entirety of the disc. That looks fine.
Just make sure disc thickness is up to spec, clean them up a bit, and keep on using them.

Wow that's some going 18k! Had a Passat estate and 2 vw Caddy's that all did over 90k miles before needing front pads only! Discs weren't replaced whilst I owned any of them and I had them all for 130k + . Looking at replacement VAG TRW pads the images all seem to show the wear indicator line in the centre of the pad as well as the electric indicator. If that's the case mine are shot!

Our Citigo did the same thing, thought it was weird and has never been driven that hard

Those brakes look fine to me mate, would put them back in and carry on if it was me.

Managed 38000 miles in my cupra 280 ( lots of motorway ) before they were needed
