Thrashed the pants off the old Spanish Sh#*er at Bedford Autodrome today.
Top day out, great crowd.
Some amazing cars.
Lots of Porsches, a Noble, A Ferrari 328, a stripped Escort RS Turbo,
Nismo 370 Z.
2 old 70’s Alfa’s which were so cool.
A mental Audi and the usual Caterham and MX5 crews and of course the Bimmer Boys.
Didn’t beat my best lap time today but car ran really well and surprised and humbled a few.
Brilliant Fun,

highly recommend it.

Badger5 Custom Map + TIP,
3”Custom exhaust, FMIC, Bosh 550’s, BC Coilovers, ARB’s +loads more.

It really sucks seeing all these performance posts when I'm just trying to keep mine on the road.

Finally stopped trying to deny that my clutch is biting high, and got a quote. Got told to put aside £500. One of those jobs I just can't see me doing myself.

On top of that, I need to do my wheel bearings, which is no great hardship, but another thing on the list. Starting to wonder if my shocks need doing as well - hard to tell when you're driving on UK roads.

For a while now too I've had what sounds like a creaking sound coming from the offside rear wheel. I've tried bouncing the rear to replicate it, but no luck. It tends to happen more when it's under load and I'm pulling away. Any thoughts on what it could be?

I just hate it when stuff like this happens - it makes me feel like the car's a heap when it just needs a little care and attention.

At least you can drive your car mate ;) I bought my car October 2018 and it’s been non op the whole time! Just know it can always be worse. All older cars need some TLC it’s normal mate. Don’t get down, slowly fix her up nice and you’ll be happy

My car and this process has really taught me to be patient!

Not a bad price for clutch IMHO just be sure you get LUK as that’s the OEM brand.

You can test if your shocks are blown by pushing down on the car really hard in each corner and if the car bounces two or three times you need to replace the shocks. If it just comes back up and settled nicely done they’re still good

Its not only older cars that need TLC, Newer ones have issues as well. Cars are just money pits but a great deal of fun as well (when they work)

How about a £65k+ Audi Q7 with a miss fire problem, rough idle and loss of power..... With no fix from factory yet. Its been like it from sub 4000 miles old..... Beat that

T*ts or wheels and its gonna cost money.

I know exactly how you feel mate !!, What little money I can scrape together goes in either keeping it running or adding selected but tasty mods. I hate not being able to do justice to LCR (Hence why its called Last Chance Really).

Sometimes I think I should sell it and just buy a Fiesta , but then I know it wont be a happy ending (breakers) so keep struggling......

It's the longest relationship I've ever been in - and while we go through our rough spots every now and again (right now being one of them), it's never once occurred to me to call it a day. Eleven years, 150bhp and still hitting nearly 60mpg.

I forgot I'd parked her a way down the road yesterday and when I walked home today, I saw her and I caught myself thinking how nice a car it was before I realised it was mine...

I'll call round for a few more quotes on the clutch, but I'm expecting them to be near enough the same. My guy is a bit rough round the edges, but he knows I'm up for doing a lot of stuff myself and I would know if he wasn't doing the best job he could.

I feel your pain mate, still love my car but at the moment the niggles are getting to me... then I’m getting great mpg and still spanking much newer cars at the lights. This is the longest I’ve owned a car and also the most I’ve ever worked on and learned stuff about a car. Very invested in her.

It's the little things - the people who assume because I'm in an "old" car, I won't have any power, only for me to leave them behind (and not in a cloud of black smoke, I should add) - and this is in a totally stock car. No performance mods, no uprated anything. In fact, the only car to ever **** all over mine (when I was trying) was a C63 AMG, and the fact I remember that says everything.

It's got the perfect balance of mechanical and electrical for my limited knowledge - I'd hate to try and do anything to my dad's Jaguar XF. You can't do anything on that without a sensor telling you off.

Can someone please measure how big the largemouth front grill needs to be? Trying to order mesh today to arrive Saturday...

Wondering if 100x33-34cm will be enough...
