Maybe an end in sight for Kangaroo jerking...

Ok, so the title is misleading - let the Kangeroos have their fun I say!

Anyway, I paid for an hour access to Erwin this morning and came across the Technical Service Bulletin section. There is a Service Bulletin with a release date of 11/10/19 called:

2470: Jerking while warming up when accelerating/releasing accelerator (only 1st to 3rd gears - EA211evo 1.5 l TSI)

This is obviously the well documented claim of kangerooing / jerking / hesitation etc

It states the 150 bhp Leon 5F engine 1.5 TSI 110kW DADA has a new software version available to the dealers in response to this issue:

Original part reference: 05E 906 018 AL
Original software version: 6084
New part reference: 05E 906 018 AL
New software version: 9692 or higher

Those with the 130 bhp Leon 5F 1.5 TSI 96kW DACA (like me) will have to wait as the status shows "in preparation phase".

Anyone had this update done or been contacted by a dealer? Personally I can feel hesitation while the engine is cold and it is amplified when the ACT activates until the engine gets warm.

Its from new its on a lease so im going through the supplying dealer and seat Finance, its a bit of a knightmare, only in the fact it seems to be taking forever and trying to either get information or talk to the different parties is not much fun, can only talk (email) during the week, which again doesnt help and most of that im at work so only snall amount of time each day to get updates etc!! Sorry for the long reply!!

I hope it gets resolved for you soon then. Whilst I find it annoying I really do love the car and hoping the software update makes it less noticeable. I've already learnt to adapt to it but I appreciate that's not always acceptable for others.

For me it is acceptable as i live rural

the couple of times i have been in a city with stop / start it is horrendous and its basically looks to others that i cannot drive. So for city owners stuck in traffic all the time it must be horrendous.

What year is your car? I checked with OBD11 earlier and my engine ECU software version is 6323 (part number 05E906018AK).

Same as mine so it will probably be about the same Jase. Well if I hear and see there has been an update I'll ping you a message.
Yeah let me know because my local Seat garage are not interested in the slightest

the service manager is a sausage to put it politely

Those with the 130 bhp Leon 5F 1.5 TSI 96kW DACA now appear to have an update available:

Original part reference:
05E 906 018 AK
Original software version: 5688, 6323
New part reference: 05E 906 018 AK
New software version: 9602 or higher

In a rather spooky way, I checked the software version on my car with OBD11 and that even told me a new software version was available.

Good will bug the unco-operative service manager about it

Good luck. Let me know how you get on. The Service Bulletin Number is 2050266/10 and dated 15/11/2019 if you need to direct him to it.

Got mine booked in for a service in a couple of weeks so will mention it then.
