Can anyone advise on a reasonable budget to get a 2005 Ibiza through its MOT? Failed on the following -

Do not drive until repaired (dangerous defects):
  • Nearside Front Macpherson strut attachment bracket/mounting insecure and impairing directional stability (5.3.3 (a) (ii))
  • Offside Front Macpherson strut attachment bracket/mounting insecure and impairing directional stability (5.3.3 (a) (ii))
Repair immediately (major defects):
  • Emissions not tested (8.2.1.2 (d))
  • Exhaust emissions likely to be affected by an exhaust leak front flexy pipe blowing (8.2.1.1 (b))
  • Offside Front Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover no longer prevents the ingress of dirt drop-link (5.3.4 (b) (ii))
  • Nearside Front Coil spring fractured or broken (5.3.1 (b) (i))
  • Offside Front Coil spring fractured or broken (5.3.1 (b) (i))
  • Nearside Rear Shock absorbers has a serious fluid leak (5.3.2 (b))
  • Offside Rear Shock absorbers has a serious fluid leak (5.3.2 (b))
Thanks in advance, just looking for an idea.

What do they mean by the top two fails?

Are you looking for just the part prices or rough cost for a garage to do it?

sounds liike you need to replace your springs and shocks, or at least most of them. i'd replace the lot as a set, might be cheaper and potential for upgrade. £400 - £700 depending what quality to go for. (i'd say stick clear of the cheaper end)
other bits i am not sure.

As above, you're looking over 500 quid easy.

Hopefully the first two fails are the top mount or something and not the strut tops.
