sell my lcr and buy a sti uk??

Right guys and gals what do i do,do i sell mr lcr and buy a subaru impreza sti uk ??
i can afford to do it part ex my car and put £500 towards a sti uk for around £13000 on a 02 plate with something like 30,000 on the clock.Itll also cost me £300 more on insurance i like my lcr but the idea of owning a sti uk is even better but im not too sure what the mpg is like on them.
Any1 gone from a impreza to a lcr or vise versa idf love to hear what you think.

Seriously though I think you will find the running costs of the Impreza much higher.

I assume the servicing costs are in line with the LCR

This is on top of tyres (4 will wear at the same rate) pads & discs

In the ones I've been in / driven the motorway cruising economy isn't nice at all.

One of my car dealers has a mint P1 for sale on a 51 plate, really would be worried about it getting nicked thou, looks awesome

worrying about getting it nicked isnt really a problem for me as it will be garaged nxt to my bedroom
plus to find my house you will need a os map middle of no where in south wales.
I think thats why my insurance is quite cheap

depends if you like stonkingly shite depreciation, i would personally keep the LCR and spend the #500 on a remap, a remapped LCR will run an sti seriously close

This is periliously close to turning into another multi page boring debate about how fast a scooby blah blah is compared to a LCR remap doo-dah yawn.

At the end of the day, the Scooby and an LCR are both nice cars, but offer quite a different experience. If you haven't driven the Scooby, do so before listening to anymore talk. Everyone will have their opinion, but you are the one living with it an paying the bills. I have driven a couple of Scoobies, one a totally standard 215bhp turbo which I thought was brash, agricultural (listening to the centre diff whine on over-run, not under load) and slow, and a tweaked up STI with around 330bhp. Same as the first one but rather fast! I personally would not want one, but I can see why people like them. Whether its faster or not is largely irrelevant (because that is easily changed). Whether you can live with the style/badge/build quality/running costs/etc only you know.

If I could afford it I would do it! My old boss had one...OMFG it was amazing! It had the Prodrive Performance Pack fitted (PPP) which boosted to over 310bhp and that was only £1500 fitted from the dealership and all under warranty!

If you have shares in any petrol company go fo it!...its a tad on the thirsty side!

Go on, you know you want to! But I'd go for a newer shape, those bug eyed scoobys are as ugly as me!

Who's not calm? You asked, I have given my opinion - ultimately I couldn't give one what you drive, so long as you enjoy it!

Its nice to see people looking at other stuff, variety is the spice of life after all. But at the same time it usually decends into into a pissing contest of what an LCR can and can't do!

I have recently gone from an 03 STi PPP to the LCR so can probably answer any questions you might have.

First off - the Scooby you're looking at.. is it the bug-eye version (round headlights?) I presume so on an 02 plate. Not that it makes a huge difference but I would recoemend the newer blob-eye model... can't remember all the differences, but there's more power to be had out the newer ones. I'm sure the guys on SIDC or ScoobyNet would have summin to say about that, but hey.

Running costs - nightmare (main reason I got rid of mine). Can't go past an Optimax pump......

On the plus side tho, servicing isn't too bad - I paid for a 20k service on mine and it only cost a couple of hundred bucks. Discs/Pads and tyres ain't much different from the LCR.

The service I received from Subaru was second to none!!!

Worrying about having it nicked.... that's what we all pay insurance for isn't it...?

The biggest thing for me tho.... If I could - I would have another one tomorrow!!

IMHO .... I have the same regard for Scooby drivers as I do for BMW drivers...

Sure some of them are curtious and good drivers.... but MOST the them... :w4nk:ers
