Hi,

I currently own a Renault Clio 182 2ltr full fat, cup packs, etc...
thinking of swapping or selling for a leon cupra.

can anyone tell me the different models or what to look for im hoping to spend only 7 or 8k
is there a guide online anywhere that shows the models/marks/wtf is R?

Thanks

cupra is 1.8 20vt 180bhp model

cupra r is 210/225bhp 1.8 20vt, power depends on age

i do know there are differences in the spec of the cars, bigger brakes on the cupra suspension and a few other things like bumpers

not sure on the exact diff, but i am sure someone can tell you

is it worth looking for an R under 8k or do they not exist in good condition at this price?

CheifSilverBack went from an LCR to a Trophy...

He said he prefered the Trophy. Even thought it attracted Pigs to him. I.E. 6 points in 3 months.

What is the difference between a Trophy and a 182? My sister has a Trophy, but I can't get any performance out of it unless it REALY ragged it.
Where as my little 110 Tdi is fine even at low revs .... :funk:
LOVE that turbo ... :drive1:

trophy is limited edition only somthing like 10000 made
its 182 bhp whereas my full fat 182 is 180 bhp, but its got the extras like xenons aircon etc....
so is it worth selling my 182 for a cheaper cupra or possibly a cupra R?

Depends why you are buying the Cupra tbh.

I'd buy a cupra because

1) one of the best if not the best looking hothatch around.
2) great performance
3) vw/audi build quality
4) rare

I'd get a 182 cup for

1) performance
2) handling

I doubt you will find a Leon Cupra R (225 bhp) for 8k. You'll pick one up for 10-11k. For 8K you can get a Leon Cupra 1.8 20VT (180 bhp) and that is still pretty darn quick. I'd do you research before you just buy - go test drive one.
