I think the difference between the LCR and the new Cupra are like chalk and cheese, the power is very similar in real terms, because the Cupra weighs more than the LCR does, but the chassis on the new Cupra is miles ahead, just read the excellent reviews the Golf GTi got when it came out. Same chassis the R32 uses. ;)

Im not so sure 4WD makes all that much of a difference in the real world sense, only in tricky conditions is it likely to give any kind of advantage. modern traction control and stability programs are pretty good on keeping them on the black stuff anyway.

R32 is lovely car, and it will hold its money better than the SEAT ever would, but I personally am not sure i could live with the running costs for not that much greater performance, if were being honest.

And its true the specifications on the Leon are likely to be more attractive, in what you get for your money, though we won't know for sure until at least November.

They're 'only' supposed to be around £27k new, although I guess once you add all the extra it'll go way over £30k :( (Especially as a 3.2 quattro with s-tronic is over £27k, lol)

What about an RX8? The extra money left over could go towards fuel and oil :D Great fun to drive :) I'd really like one but just couldnt afford to run it :(

great looking car but i have heard bad reports on the interior & drive

The interior seemed fine to me, some of the dash plastics were a little cheap looking but doors shut with a solid thud and ride and sound deadening etc was excellent. Felt lovely inside in the one I went in (that had GT pack seats) and performance is above the LCR, handling wise they corner really well........have heard people suggest ditching the OE tyres ASAP as they are cr@p. New 2007 cars have 300bhp as std which is an increase I believe????

They also sound superb
