Ive got a leak in my car and read all of your helpful guides on this. I tried getting the scuttle panel off yesterday but with no luck because I couldnt get the wipers off. I took the plastic moulding bit off, undone and removed the nut but just couldnt pull the wiper off. Is there a techniqe to it or am i missing a part i havent removed?!

Cheers

OK, I managed to get the wipers off but how do you take the scuttle off? Is it stuck to the windscreen or does it just need a bit of force to be pulled off? I dont want to damage anything and cause myself a bill!!!

Cheers in advance

the scuttle panel is held on via one continuous tag (like sandwich bags) just strip it off. refitting it is a little more difficult but as long as you start from the very edge you wont have any excess plastic by the time you get to the other end. Make sure it feels like its clipping back in again.

I need to check the pollen filter and the drainage holes as i have sausage fingers and theres not enough room to check with the scuttle panel on!!

ahh right, the pollen filter will be covered in crap, if you are going to remove, give it a few taps or even better get the hoover onto it and clean round its box also otherwise the next time you turn the fans on you will get a burst of old crud that became dislodged.

When u reapply ur scuttle panel u will probably need to lubricate the trim which is attached to the bottom of the screen the bit the skuttle locates into , dont put too much force or u could split ur windscreen , u will see it locate in to the runners .have fun
