I really dont think youll need it to be honest just go to a Approved dealer of what ever map you deicde to go to, and they should be able to sort your ECU, aslong as its not beyond repair... proberly just needs a bench flash or some advance software which they dont have.

yeh its a standard one. swapped it for my revo'd ecu when car got written off. as said before think one of the bigger companies could sort it for u but if u do require another ecu then you know i have this. as for price i really have no idea its worth.

anyone know how much a secondhand cupra ecu is worth?

as for remaps my cupra was revod and i must say it felt quicker than my 225 S3. much lighter car though. gonna get the s3 revod soon though.

i would have figured if they are a decent tuning company (i've not heard of them) they could read the tables for themselves and tell you for sure

Bell Auto's will be able to read it and see if its standard or not by checking the DAMOS files I believe.

Not all car's can mmap 100% perfect through OBD. Sometimes, as was the case with my dads Audi A6, it fails so then you take the ECU out and bench flash it. Basically power it up without anything in the car connected to it which can interfere with it.

It's their inferior mapping skills that are more than likely to blame, so don't pay them a penny. If there adament on a charge give them the ECU and tell them to bnch flash it... bets are he won't have the capabilities.

so they said, but it got 20% of the way there and then possibly found an address which did'nt read/write as their programming software expected.. eg trial codes from revo et al previously do this.

This isnt to come across blunty, :) but how did you know it got 20% there?

ive just had premier tuning out to remap my ibiza cupra, but they were on it for 2 hours and could not do it.

they said when downloading the ecu information from the car there is an error at 20%, and they told me its due to the car being remapped and then put back to standard at some stage, now im only the second owner and the bloke before me swears blind its never been done? so im very confussed this is what im thinking:

1: the map company are using this excuse because they cant do it

2: the previous owner is telling fibs (not likely imo)

has anyone else ever had this problem?

urgent help needed please as the company want to charge me call out and i refuse as my car is still the same.
cheers dean.

Your car/ECU is no problem to tune. If either of the above are true, the car may need recovering on the bench. Easy and straight forward enough if you go to a good company

Where abouts are you located?

impossible performance in rochester did a great custom map on my car for about the same money. if this company can't bench your ecu, i'd recommend going there if you're in kent
