Thanks Tim - i know what the legal limit is... but i don't know what the TWI is set to.

It would be useful if Goodyear mentioned it somewhere (at least i can't find it) because otherwise it's hardly an "indicator" other than to say - "they're getting low"

The TWI is 1.6 as well

What weekly mileage are you doing, Paul?

I am doing about 600 miles a week at the moment, but things are changing so i can't confirm how many miles i will be doing.

Obviously when i'm on holiday for 2 weeks my car will be doing 0 miles :D

I've always been led to believe that the TWI is at 2mm on all tyres, to give enough notice to replace at 1.6mm. Can't see why it would differ between manufacturers?!?

Hey Chaps. I have always been of the understanding the treadwear indicator is 2mm. So, yeah it's time to change your tyre. Won't be so much of an issue in summer. But with a performance hatch leaving your tyres to 2mm in the wet could be a bit tricky.

Well cheapest place I've found GSD3's for (225/40/18) is £106 fitted (each)

Is this a good price? I haven't bought 18's before, last wheels were 17's....

That's not a bad price, anywhere from around 89 quid supplied so £106 fitted is ok ..... definitely time to change them :)

I've covered about 5k miles on the front Toyos and they're already down well past the halfway mark.

Think I paid about £85 fitted for mine (225/45/17) on the LC, but was owed a favor by my Tyre dude.

I normally aim to get them supplied & fitted for a similar price as the supplied only off Mytyres.co.uk (yours are listed @ about £98 so somewhere around there)

£106 isn't really that bad!

My local tyre place, who does some surprisingly good prices considering he's a one-man-band, said he would do them for £111 fitted, so that's definitely a good price IMO :)

Well because I can't verify what the TWI is set at, I am NOT going to drive around illegally.

I've ordered 2 new front tyres, GSD3's, for £100 each all inc. :)

Not bad, seeing as Mytyres charge £98 for supply only! Means I'm paying £2 each for fitting/balancing :D

They'll be fitted on Saturday morning.

Can't argue with that! Who's doing that deal, Pabs? Will be useful to know for when I need mine changed.

Can't be telling you.... yet ;)

Let me get them fitted and pay for them, then I'll be 100% happy that they haven't made a c*ckup.....

No idea why today's quote was £7 cheaper per tyre than 2 weeks ago.... perhaps a global drop in rubber prices ;)

I need 4 too. TWI is 1.6mm. I can hear mine now like a wheel bearing has gone...

Sure MyTyres are only £80 per corner atm.

Just checked mytyres, - £97.50 inc postage.

Mine are 225/40/18....speed rating of 92Y. Yours might be different...?
