see i love it when someone makes comments like this, did you read mine or what? so entry by entry
20-30 bhp isnt really significant especially as I said 'ON THE ROAD' not on a track.....
I also said remap, and never mentioned exhausts etc and if you can find a 'high flow exhaust for a diesel your doing well'.
You go and get an FR TDI 170 mapped and when I get mine, you come and lose me on the road and I bet you don't
Again on the road, the 400 bhp cossie versus my 230bhp impreza was rather fun as he had TO MUCH power ALL the time and I left him on roads we both new. Oh did I mention on the road at all.....I dont see track mentioned in my statement. Do you spend all day at the track? does anyone here drive only at a track?
Like I say, you go and get the same car mapped, come and visit and we will test them against each other for performance, economy etc 'ON THE ROAD' where it matters.....real world. not on calculators and in books
Oh and this was a diesel thread wasnt it, so take my comments as meant for diesels too. Not petrols, the impreza bit was only as an example...true as it was.
You'll notice that DPF and FR are mentioned at the top of the thread, so remapping one of these at the moment is releasing about 20 bhp, that might equte to about .5 of a second 0-60 which if you cant drive anyway is only going to waste a lot of money for little gain. buying a set of really good tyres will gain just as much if not more and that is a proven fact......obviously combining both will add up but that wasn't the statement....was it?
Last comment...did you notice I said MUCH DIFFERENCE
