cupra airbox on 1.4TDI help needed!!!!

Right finally got the part from the steelers this morning and i've fitted the new airbox top but there are two things different to my original box!

1. there is a big pipe/hole in the cupra intake which when i start my car lets loads of air out! its in the pic below so what should i do, do i just tape off the hole??

2. there is a small pipe probably no more than 5mm wide that used to fit onto a small hole/tube on my old airbox, what am i supposed to do with this??? See pic link below.

Do TDi's have a secondary air pump? This is what 1st picture's hole is for

nah doesn't have one that wat confussed me! shall i jus plug the hole up?
still need help with the other small tube.... is the small tube to do with the car measuring the air mass or anythin?

Just noticed your other post, quick question why have you got a new airbox top?

i got a whole new cupra airbox. got a close friend in my local steeler who got it cheep. what am i doing wrong cause i'm stupid when it comes to stuff like this!

Me thinks that the air box for the petrol cupra and not the tdi look at these drawings spot the diff....

i think if i drill a small hole and remove the small piece of tube from my old airbox i can sort it, would jus have to block the other hole up

I get the top swapped if I was you, tell your friend HE was wrong and HE should sort it out. Incorrect info......

Yeh defo the 20vt airbox - why did you change to this airbox?

I thought all the airboxes where the same only the top is different on petrol/derv models and items 15 and 9 are different through the range.

buy the tdi cupra airbox but beware the maf housing is 3"on the tdi cupra where as on the petrol cupra its 2.5" with the tdi airboxyou will have the vaccume pipe and no cold start pipe hole in the side and will be alot better than bodging it up and also look better too

but does the 1.4 derv have a 3" maf? as Chris TDi has a 1.4
