Remote Central Locking Kit

I have a 99 Ibiza Fresca, which comes with central locking as standard, but not remote central locking.
I have a look on ebay and found there are hundreds of "universal" r/c/l kits for sale: http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=remote+central+locking

Does anyone know if these are truly "universal", and will work on my car? and if so how difficult these are to fit?
Also, are any of the models better than any of the others?

sorry for all the questions, but i've only just got the Ibiza, and i'm not really that good with auto electrics etc.

Any one have an answer to this?

My mate has a GTI cupra sport 16v and the central locking is FUBAR

He asked me to have a look and see if there was any thing I could find.

They are universal and they will fit but it's not an easy job...

I bought mine about six months ago and I still haven't managed to fit it. The problems I've had are that the rods aren't stiff enough to operate the locking mechanism on the rear doors and its really difficult to line up a rod on the front doors.

Once they're in place I'm sure it works fine but its a lot of hassle...

There is one person on here, Czechboy, that has successfully fitted one of the kits to a 3dr Mk2
