Just traded my 1.6 for a tdi cupra. I noticed on the way home that the brakes where a lot heavier than on the 1.6 is this right or is there something wrong with them. Also roughly how much will a 40000 mile service cost.

if you mean the pedal is stiffer to push down i'd imagine that was normal with the bigger brakes etc. but i'm sure someone will be along soon who has more technical knowledge who can enlighten you further, enjoy your new toy by the way mate.

40K service - was quoted 256squid by my local Seat delaership.

Will probs go independant and get a better/cheaper deal

As far as your breaks are concerned I have driven a 1.6s and the Petrol Cupra and haven't noticed any difference when pressing the break pedal (as far as the weight of it). Both cars have power assisted breaking so they both should be about the same.

Cheers think it was just me although think the rear brakes will need done some time.
