I've been looking around at what maps are avalable for the PD170 & I've been suggested that an "Oscarli Map " would be suitable & possible the best option ????

Anybody know of this map or who its by

The nerest I can find is a "Oscars reMap", which refers to a IT s/w change! - unless some one else knows different. ....................

Im intending on waiting to see what Revo produce... The custom code option looks pretty good though.

I was talking to Bell Autos last Monday, and they wont map passed a 25hp increase with the DPF in place, so be interesting what Revo achieve.

My issue with the maps so far is that most are around the 200 bhp mark (I know the DPF is the issue). Thing is, from what I've read a lot of the PD170 engines are producing 185 to 195 BHP as standard so you're not actually get a big increase for your money. :(

The thing is even if its a slight BHP gain, you get a huge gain in torque and the whole power delivery is smoother and lasts right through the rev range leading to a much more enjoyable driving experiance!!!

Hi There,

We carry out the Custom-Code remaps and we have done a few of the new 170PD unit’s :) very nice engines with good power increases!

We have seen increases from 170bhp to 205-210bhp and from 237lb/ft to 310-320lb/ft with a very smooth power delivery and good power at higher RPM as Custom-Code is known for.

We offer these remaps here at JBS for £528.75 inc VAT which includes a before and after diagnostics check and test drive to ensure everything is working perfect.

I do believe that Custom-Code are now offering a mobile tuning service at no extra charge, but still includes the same level of service if it was done here.

I hope this helps
Mike

I know you have to travel to P-Torque, but they are offering the same service i.e. a before and after diagnostics check , test drive and a Dyno Run, for £350 all in!! which is quite reasonable if you ask me!

 to P-Torque!

Interesting....

I've decided to wait & see whats she's putting out, if its 180-185 as standard, I'm not blowing £20+ per extra bhp gained to get up to the 200bhp area.

Zenith, I hope your saving for a new clutch with the torque :cartman:

Agreed.

Revo are however touting around 220bhp from their map so this is more like the kind of gains I'd look for.

lol yeah i've got money put aside for that but i look at it like this, if you don't hammer it from under 2k revs, which i don't then it should be ok for a while yet, if anything i think that the re-map has helped as its smoothed the inital delivery so much as opposed to being nice and in your face at 2k lol.

Oscarli is my trading name. We only sell tuned software to the trade and dont really get involved in the retail side, a lot of our trade customers advertise and sponsor this and many other VAG websites so we dont really want to compete with our own customers, I hope that makes sense?

We are currently refitting a workshop in Warwick that will be open in January for retail work on several brands so maybe we can help then.

BTW...nice safe gains on the PPD170vag cars is +20bhp and +45ftlb at best. The difficulty in these is mainly the dpf blocking too quickly if over fuelled so you have to stay on the happy side of that. Then you have the added issue of the EGT sensors being very poor, again too much extra charge pressure will soon kill the sensor. A lot of standard cars have these failing anyway so unfortunately you just have to limit the tuning in order to stay on the good side of the hardware you have. Even though the tuning is limited the drive after tuning is still worthwhile.
