i sold mine for 1500GBP gutted...

there are a few 150 diesels kicking about right now sam. there's 2 main dealer one i know of.
budget didn't stretch that far for us,and we want rid of the vrs quickly so gone for a 110.
which brings me back to how much does the cupra front end cost roughly?

hahaha no probs....

Cupra front i got from ebay. as i remember it came with upper grills, was platinum grey and didnt have a mark on it...i got it for 200 squid. then spray was on top....they are like rocking horse poo on there, but sometimes they come up!
was chuffed it was grey as i had a bumper sprayed before for an escort....it was black and as it chipped (stones etc) it looked bloody aweful!

midcuk, that is really really nice. Like the little v5 badges under indicators too. Somehow it seems to capture the classy side of the v5 plus the sporty side.

Must get me some v5 badges. Noticed on ebay some have a red #5, is that to differentiate the 150 from the 170 or is it for another manufacurer?

I need to unsubscribe from this or I'll end up buying another!

I'd love a PD130 Toledo too, such a well spec car with reasonable power.

Cheers for the info, sounds like a decent price.

It's a MkII 180 U have? How do you like it compared to the v5?

Two completely different cars in terms of power delivery and the ZS is way quicker, but I love the smootheness and low down torque of the v5. It's amazing how quick you get used to the power difference though, felt a lot more than just 10BHP to begin with though.

what made you get rid of the v5 if you dont mind me asking?

guys,do the CUPRA honeycombe bonnet grilles fit with the standard grille/bumper? i just don't get the vertical/horizontal slats as standard.
you think they would look ok on a standard bumper(for now)

yeah a mk2 and power wise its a whole different league its a lot faster :), v5 suited me more though its dead lazy to drive and i miss the refinement it was so smooth (and used a lot less fuel :) ) good for the 30 min motorway car park on a morning, would of kept the v5 for life (got it new) but my home circumstances have changed and i was going to loose it anyway as its getting messy so thought may as well get rid quick and get another car i want / like instead of waiting for the courts and having to sell it and getting half of the money , glad my dad got a zs pity i dont have a car anymore:whistle:

yeah on paper they are similar but totally different to drive both brilliant but in totally different ways.
oh yeah the v5 was a much lower insurance group yet the zs is cheaper to insure go figure ?

You are so right. I have owned too many cars to mention, but included MR2, Subaru Impreza Turbo, Ibiza Cupra 20VT and ZS 180 - But guess which one I love the most - of course the V5. Have to say though the 180 is a brilliant car too and very under rated. Well suited to the more enthusiastic driver shall we say. I'm sure midcuk will enjoy his fathers immensely.

Kewe is that the 150 bhp sport model you have? I think I have the same one - have u had yours lowered or is that just the sport height? Midcuk - I really like those side-skirts and bumper, might get some of those. Need new wheels first tho - can't believe u paid 1k Sam! They are nice tho I might get some similar, but I'm not looking to go over £500 and want 17" :S

No m8 it's a standard 170bhp v5. Don't think it's been lowered but all the mods were done before I bought it.

At the time i bought those wheels (think it was 2001) they had just come out as a new OZ design and were lightweight racing alloys.....have a look in the shops i would imagine they are a lot cheaper than that now! (225/17" Superleggera)

It's in good hands Midcuk I bought it a couple of weeks ago, the work you've done on it makes it really stand out (thanks) and its amazing to drive - shame about the friggin dealer only offering you 3k [:@] It attracted a load of interest at the dealers show room but luckily all of the people interested in buying it struggled to get the finance whilst I went in and whacked a deposit down on it.

Congratulations, very nice model you got there and I'm sure Midcuk will be pleased to know it's in the good hands of another SCN member!
