I'm thinking of replacing my wipers and wondered if anyone has any pics of the newer looking wipers with a single blade and attachment as found on new VW Golfs, Passats and some Skoda's?

Also any info regarding how to convert the wipers.

Lastly, at the moment, my wipers stop too high above the bottom of the windscreen, which I can correct by tapping the wiper stalk, but surely there's some relay/control module which could resolve this niggle by replacing it!?

Try a search here!

There are numerous threads!

I used Renault Scenic mk1 aero wipers (Bosch) that fit the standard arms.
There's also the option to replace the arms/baldes with VW Lupo Gti items.

I've done a search but most of the 'group buys' and mods were relevant to different models of Ibiza. Secondly, the advice in most of them was still to use dealer supplied items, whereas I'm trying to avoid that. There are loads of written off new VW's and Audis in the Breakers yard near here so I'm just trying to see what items I can literally take off and bolt onto my car.

I had considered removing the rear wiper (as I've done on numerous occasions on a few 205 GTi's) but I do end up using it quite a bit, especially this time of year.

Does look good but would never remove mine as you can't spot unmarked pig carriers when you can't see sh*t out of your back window and they are more common than marked cars round my way at the moment!

^^^Agreed, the A127 is a nightmare for that! Even the marked cars in essex are dark coloured too.

someones Geography's very good or they are an ex Essex boy???

Yeah, A12, M25 South Mimms to Lakeside & the A127 are rife with them, I can spot a unmarked car 3 or 4 back now, you've got to look through the car and spot the stuff on the dash & the extra airels, having DTM mirrors on my new beeza makes it harder hence needing the clear rear screen!!

Don't bother with the cheapo fleabay aero wipers they're much worse than standard and fit only for the bin. The only ones worth having are Bosch. In my experience these are much better than standard - much quieter, more efficient at sweeping the screen, look good and the last set lasted more than 3 years before needing replacement.

The Bosch AR533S Aerotwin Retrofit kit (530mm & 475mm) is a direct fit for the mk2. I think they're @ £25 from http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/

As they last so long why bother with anything else... :)

Those are also available on AutoBulbsDirect too for £25.75, and their prices include free postage worldwide, and they also used to give you free sidelights bulbs on orders over £15!
I dont have these wipers so cant comment, but ive got bulbs before off this website and i can recomend them as an excellent service.

At uni up in Huddersfield, originally from London (Surrey) but my Girlfriend lives in Billericay and some mates in Hutton Mount so could say I know the area pretty well now :)

The wonders of Billericay, pretty boring town but loads of uber hot girls, which is not alot different from Brentwood really, my ex is from Billers along with alot of my mates!

Putting the order in for some wipers ASAP, thanks for the links guys!

Im also putting an order in for the wipers over the weekend, thanks for the links aswell.

Only thing, are there aero wipers available for the rear window.

And before anyone says de-wiper the rear, i wont bother as i need my rear wiper or i wouldnt see a thing out the back at times!!

Rear wiper is 13" i think isnt it?

here is a retro fit aero on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Retro-fit-Flat-Aero-Wiper-Blade-13-inch-front-or-rear_W0QQitemZ140139020952QQihZ004QQcategoryZ45645QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQ_trksidZp1638.m118.l1247QQcmdZViewItem

not sure about the quality as it isnt Bosch and people here have had mixed reviews about the ebay ones. I dont see any Bosch ones that small though.

Might check them out myself, my rear wiper is terrible, the end of it hardly touches the window!
