Pro kit.

It looks better than standard and is not stupidly low and as a result has no bother with speed bumps/kerbs.

Still need to get the alignment set as the back end has been a little tail happy since the kit was fitted.

agreed it looks a nice drop - and certainly useable. :) I take it its on standard shocks? Was there a marked improvment in handling? Is the ride crashy or about the same?

To be honest the standard car is set up really well. The eibach springs improve on it, but as I mentioned, it is tail happy now which I dont like. The ride is harder than standard but less stotty (if that makes sense) at low speeds but shows up bumps more at higher speeds.

lowerd on eibatch pro kit on a FR. In my view the front is fine but the back is still too high.

Mounted my Eibach Pro Street coil overs yesterday - lowered to max (about 80mm).

Comfort is like before.

Compare with a non lowered Altea FR.

Sorry for the bad picture quality.

It seems H&R are the choice to go for then.

However, will the springs reduce the life span of the shox ? Just a thought ?

Maybe coilovers are the one to go for instead ?

It has also been said that the steering rack issues may be tied in with the cars being too low. Owens LCR was parked next to mine the other night, and it is defo a bit lower than mine is. especially at the front and I am sure he has said something about steering rack noise where mine has not despite having double the mileage.

coilovers are great for getting the correct stance, but the ride quality will suffer IE it will be harder than a separate shock and spring set up.

Just springs - not sure if its the same on the leons but on the astras doing a drop of around 30-40mm on standard shocks is fine, it will give better handling, better looks and minimal loss in ride quality. However if you drop it more than that on just springs IE 50mm then it is worth while changing the shocks as well, as the standard ones will suffer from the constant pressure of the lower springs.

Upgraded springs and shocks - arguably the best way to achieve a similar ride to standard but with greatly improved handling and looks.

Looks like the common ones are:

Eibachs Pro kit - lower 30mm springs only

Eibachs Streetline kit - lowers up to 50mm

H&R's - lowers 40mm

For shocks it seems the koni FSd's are the popular choice.

I will be going for the eibach streetline kit with uprated dampers but not sure which as yet.
