key fob packed up a few months ago so got the battery changed thinking the key fob had run out.

changed the battery still no joy!

so i believe it must be the thing in the car that recieves the signal? what is this called and where is it?

has anyone got a part number for this so i can get it changed.

doesnt it need reprogramming?

be worth trying it yourself progamming wise - could even be a faulty key fob

1-reprogram
2-battery
3-reprogram
4-new fob
5-reprogram

never gone past that list so far yet ever

mine's unreliable too. Tends to lock ok, but every so often wont unlock. I press lock, then unlock and tends to work. Also tried new battery and still doesn't work from time to time.

hmmm mine did the above - new batteries sorted it right out.

And I wouldn't be trusting SEAT - they told me mine was buggered and that they tried new batteris. I though i bet they didn't - changed the batteries and hey presto jobs a good un!

ok , you lazy gits who cant search.

1) get in the car and put key in ignition
2) turn the key to get all the lights up (within 1 second turn the key back and remove from ignition)
3) press and hold the lock button while pressing the unlock button 3 times.
4) car should have a quick pause then lock the car, then another pause then unlock the car.

get out, shut the door and walk away pressing the lock button and it should work.

hope that helps... again

Well said! Bravo.

They might ask you to go around and do it for them as searching is hard so moving is going to be an issue lol

disconnect your car battery for 20 min...

remove batteries from key fob. leave keyfob in a warm room for a little while, put brand new batteries in key fob. re connect car battery.

try again.

if that dont work buy one off ebay for £5 like i did.

or give me your car then you wont have the problem

:cartman: hehe.

anyway basically by doing the above it 'should' reset everything... hopefully including your remap :p;). then re programming the fob should be fine... the other thing you can try is:

get a nice mate to lend you his fob, put your key on his fob and try pairing his fob to your car, (by process i said at the start). if all works fine then you know its a dodgy fob.

if that dont work either then i will use the quote... 'i dont fookin know!'

dont tempt them.

 funny thing is i could easily afford his car and about another cupra or cupra R.

i have my priorities in life and one of them is to get a house asap and i have a lot saved so i would rather save for a house than buy a quicker motor.

also thats why im selling my mk3 cupra R interior due to i will be able to afford a house that little bit quicker.
