Ran the FR on sainsbury derv pretty much since day 1, never had any issues.
Just a urban myth I thinks.
Speaking to a friend in Holland yesterday, Petrol is euro 1.57 a litre (£1.30), their derv is less than petrol by about 10p

my leon and also my mums ford focus c-max run rubbish off tesco fuel. I had a rover a few years back which also ran like cr4p off tesco. Mum uses asda in hers and says it runs best off that but i stick to shell.
What about this bio diesel stuff. There is a place near me that has set up selling it and you can buy a kit for about a £1000 to make your own. Is it safe enough to use in a pd engine. They are running renault dci vans on it. But i want my car to last for ever and im not sure how good bio diesel is?

i did hear some good news on the radio today guys, some expert recons prices will eventually level off, if not drop! ya see if people cant afford and stop buying then there will be no demand. makes sense really, heres hoping!!!

Most dramatic drop ive seen is 1p 
well im in surrey and im paying £1.31 a litre whereas the petrol is £1.16 the question i have is i see the price of petrol going down and up every week but the diesel stays the same??? i am happy that i get 500 miles plus out of mine but u have to put ur hand in ur wallet first to get that

I don't see the point in worrying too much about which fuel is cheapest. It's not as if you can switch vehicles from gas (petrol) to diesel and back again, each time one fuel becomes more economical.
As an individual, there is not much you can do about fuel prices except to fill up when you see a station with a good price -- you don't have to wait until the tank is close to empty.
Sometimes you can adjust the way you drive -- shifting to a higher gear sooner, for example, and saving your high-speed runs for special occasions. Try to stretch each gallon/liter as far as it will go. Think about how you would drive if the low-fuel light came on 60 miles ago and the next station is 20 miles down the road (and it's the middle of the night and rain is coming down in buckets).

BP near me has dropped 2p too, still more expensive than the rest though
tesco et al near me went up 1p on thursday to 129.9 i think up to 131.9

I heard they're gonna start getting loads of oil out of Iraq to bring the price down. I wonder who owns that oil after the war, eh? And we all wondered why the US/UK coalition really invaded....?!

i read a crappy article on the bbc website, called "hypermiling". they had some bollocks about removing seats for weight, but a decent bit of advice was only filling half up, because half a tank weighs less than a full tank....
yea but that little bit you save by only filling up half, costs you twice as much next time because its gone up again..
My advice, see it cheaper than normal, brim it up,
