IMMOBILISED???? wont start

Just took a wee trip to the shops and the car was fine and dandy.
When i got back in the car to come home i turned the key and the alarm went off.
As i dont have a fob for the alarm, i got out the car and locked then unlocked the drivers door to stop the alarm.
I got back in the car and tried to start up, at the first click the dash lights lit up, but as i turned it all the way it was dead.

The car is sitting at the local shops so i really need to get it started and moved,
please, if anyone has any ideas on what the problem is and more importantly how to fix it, please let me know asap.

I love my cordy to bits and dont want to have to call the scrap man.

cheers in advance

Your immobiliser can become out of sinc with your door locking particularly if you manually lock and unlock the doors using the buttons.

You will need to reset your immobiliser to syn in with the doors again. There is a way to do it involving putting the key in the ignition and holding the lock button down and then turning the key and holding it fully on in the ignition position for three seconds.. or something like that.

I used to have a few Beezers with the exact instructions in the user manual but I don't have them now.

You need to appeal to someone with a Beezer or Cordy manual..

sorry.

BUT DON'T WORRY your Cordy will be fine.

thanks for that, i should of maybe been a bit clearer. when i said fob i meant the remote control for the alarm system.

So i dont think the above help is going to be of any use to me, thanks a lot =though.

if the immobiliser was playing up, the car would start and then die after a sec or so, I have a key that is not programmed to the car and that is what happens if I try and start the car with it.

Dont think its that, when i turned the key i noticed the clocks had reset so i'm guessing its electrical.

I'll try giving it a bump tomorrow if its still in one piece.

cheers

Thanks a lot to everyone who offered advice.

I went to the car this morning and tried to start up on the off chance, again no luck. So, i lifted the bonnet and simply tapped the battery terminals and earth connection with an adjustable. Started first turn!!

Thinking this was problem sorted, i jumped in the car a few hours later and turned the key, it started for about half a second and just cut out. After a few more attempts with the same result, i was back under the bonnet tapping at the battery terminals, i jumped in and started up with a lot more revs and it seemed fine until i came to the first junction where on slowing down the engine cut out again. This happened a few times on my journey so i pulled into a local kwik fit where they tested my battery with a hand held meter, they told me my battery is fine and its possibly the alternator or the starter motor.

Sad day indeed as it seems my first seat is destined for the scrapheap.

Alternator or starter are easy fixes unless the cars a real dog its not a wreck just for that!! I'd get all the earths cleaned up and go from there. If your thinking of scrapping get some pics and an ad up because there are lots of people on here who would have it if the price is right.
