Still, I can't really make my mind up about the rear.
At the moment I don't really like it. Maybe it's better in real life but...

Hope they'll briong out a manual gearbox aswell and without prices this means nothing.

I was hoping for it to have abit more go than that...

If you look at the 0-60s (or even 62 lol) the equivalent engines are slower in the mk5 than the mk4. So this cupra is actually not as good as the previous model.

And no news of a tdi.
Gizmondo will be unhappy lol

Looks awful in my opinion, the rear bumper just looks like an add on / after thought and the front plastic mesh inserts next to the fog lights look gash. I prefer the cleaner lines of the standard models.

Was hoping for a 200 BHP Cupra and a bigger engine than a 1.4, although the 7 speed DSG is a bonus. Should be low Co2 and MPG though.

My mother tongue is dutch. The numbers stated are estimates, no exact figures are out now. It states for example that the car will do a 0-62mph in less than 7.5 seconds.

Oh damn! I was really looking forward to the new Cupra but in my opinion it's a disappointment.

I was hoping for at least 200 bhp and maybe the 2.0T, isn't 16k a bit much for a something the Ibiza's size with a 1.4 anyway? Oh and I don't give a rat's backside that it comes with a 7-speed DSG!

SEAT had a real chance to make a big hit of the Cupra but they've messed it up, surely it couldn't be too hard to recreate the Bocanegra and put a 2.0T in?

what i don't seem to get is the bocanegra made such an impact when it was at the motor show wherever it was, yet they don't seem to want to follow through with making it even styling wise

i think a lot of people would be interested if they did, am not sure on the cupra looks currently but i think they will grow on me

If they made it look like the Bocanegra then they would sell alot more and pull sales away from their competitors.

For me, it doesn't look different enough from the 3 door and the wheels are too small, Bocanegra: 19 inch, Cupra: 17 inch

What's with the whole VXR style exhaust anyway?

I could live with the looks but it just seems like it's going to be underpowered compared to it's rivals and I cant imagine that you could extract much more power from the 1.4 from a remap. Maybe a bit limited in terms of it's tuning potential?

Disappointing. Why they didn't turn the Bocanegra into the Cupra I do not know. I mean the Leon prototype was pretty much exactly the same as the Leon Cupra in the end, and the popularity of the Bocanegra blew SEAT away.

According to the leaked model plan in the Leon facelift thread, the FR is due at the end of the year and the Cupra is due April '09, so why would the Cupra pics come out first?

I really hope this turns out to be the FR and the Cupra gets Bocanegra styling. I know that probably won't happen but we can all hope!

Sorry but thats just horrible, trying to hard on the big bulges and diffusers that all hot hatches have these days, also 1.4 is shocking, good to get 180bhp from the 1.4 but probs will be stretched for tuning.
