Gearboxs - What ones fit?

as most of you know by my previous thread it looks although im going to have to get a new/recon box fitted as mine has decided to **** the bed!

So what other ones will fit on with no trouble?

Im guessing that most of the platforms that run the VAG 1.8T engine but are there any others?

The golf box will fit i believe but it is a different ratio. I would stick to the ibiza cupra box.

Yeh i`ve heard that the golf box fits from a former cupra owner.

So would it just be best to stick to a ibiza box? Im baiscly looking for a cheap fix (as cheap as it can be) before i stick her up for sale.

I'd look at six speed - AUQ (I think), BAM, AMK physically bigger, not sure about clutch, stronger.

I've heard tht the 4WD box is stronger still (but might be pub chat), would need different driveshaft(s) and a blanking plate.

I had read somwhere that there was a problem when trying to fit a six speed box into the ibiza but i couldnt remember what it was.

So sounds like it might be best just to stick with what is already there?

Stick with the O2J EDT in the Ibiza. Thats what I put in mine way back.
