really nice. Hows it compare in a straight line to the leon FR?

Thanks for all your comments. Its hard to compare the speed of the cupra tdi to the CTR as they are completly different. I would say that the CTR feels slightly faster and has alot more top end. Obviosly the CTR sounds much better. The Handling of the CTR is in a different league, as is build and overall quality but then the beezer is older. As mentioned the handling is amazing. I have driven all the current hot hatches inc leon cupra and the CTR is the best and the mags confirm that. Yes Honda were a bit daft fitting a torsion beam but it has been engineered that well that the effects are not noticeable in everyday driving. The ride is even harder compared to the beezer cupra but the CTR is running on 19s. Its still a good ride though. Thanks all

Is it just me or does the whole back end look like its reversed into the ripspeed section of halfrauds?

I do like the way they drive, interior is nice but the outside just looks horrible to me. Each to their own though, sounds like your really enojying it :D

Well guys I am hopefully coming back to seat ownership. A few reasons, need to free up some cash, miss the power and torque to much and miss seat aswell! Never quite bonded with the type r. Nice car but the high reving is not for me and its not fast enough. So hopefully over the next month or so I will be buying a Leon cupra R. All depends on the part ex price for the type r. Lookin forward to getting raped!!!

So after driving it for a few months whats it like compared to the TDi Cupra? My mate has a CTR same shape with the 19"s. We had a little play not to silly speeds and he couldn't pull away. That was pre-remap too.

I prefered my diesel. I like torque to much. So I am now hunting down a LCR 2005 for around 8K. Seems like there is some good deals out there. Just hope I dont get hit to much when part ex.

I too have (almost) been enticed away from my Cupra by the looks and feel of the Type R Civic, but in my opinion, the V-Tec part is too little too late. Until you hit 6K, it feels like a Austin Montego as far as performance goes, and then - woo hoo, it's away - until very shortly after - when you hit the rev limiter. Yes the dash is trick, the looks controversial, the performance (as opposed to the original) is no great shakes, but the build quailty blew me away. It is as hard on the road as my Cupra too. Better seats though. I am in two minds to switch, as the new Leon Cupra is Soooooooooo expensive. (24K for a K1)

Dont be so sure on the build quality. Just take a look at www.civinfo.com. They are not built that well at all. Pannels not aligned properly, numerous rattles, extra thin paint etc.
