Ron Denis to step down as CEO at McLaren

Back from the dead
After what that poor sod has been through in the last 2 years I'm not surprised.

He's a top bloke, and not one of the cash rollers who's stepped in as a hobby. He's worked his way from the bottom so big respect to him for that.

Tip my hat to him and hope he enjoys what he does next, will be missed

Good plan I feel, he needs to step back from the pitwall in my opinion and concentrate on the overall company. Martin Whitmarsh has pretty much been doing the job for ages anyway.

He is remaining with McLaren, but McLaren do much more than just race cars. ;)

Just read about Ron Standing down and I'm surprised he has stepped down now, thought he'd wait for Lewis to get a second title before he did that.

I suppose he is exiting the F1 team on a high though which is alwys great way to go

Wonder if the new road car will be his focus

Real shame he's going. Along with Frank Williams he was one of the last guys in F1 to still be in it for the sport and not the business or brand promotion. I always felt he was the voice of sense in the pitlane.

Just a thought, but with Honda withdrawing, would Ross Brawn be out of contract? Move to McLaren in the offing???
