dash light

hi all,i have a small problem:
drivin home from work today(in the daylight) i noticed that a
light on my dash (the one that comes on when my lights are on)
was dimly lit.
the problem is it stays dimly lit even when the car has been turned off
and the keys taken out and locked!!
any idea,s please??

it looks like a dim light switch light on the dash.
but is on on all the time.

I'd be getting a vag com scan sorted tbh, ask to see if anyone is local to you.

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago after changing my brake light bulbs. when I pressed the brakes the "lights on" light on the dash came on and my sidelights also lit up, if you had the engine off and key out with the door open, the "you've left your lights on" alarm sounded when you pressed the brakes!

To cut a short story long, check all of your bulbs are seated in correctly and snuggly as one of my brake bulbs had come only ever so slightly loose, yet unleashed all of the above fury

could be wiring somewhere from the light not earthed properly maybe??

problem sorted.
been checkin and usin the search thing (usin 3 or 4 diff topics and putting then all together) long story short>>>
it was the hose for the rear wash jet had come off (the one in the boot,left hand side)
and drenched the 3 wiring blocks that sort the rear lights etc out.
used hair drier and WD40 and 30mins later was sorted.
before this the rear wash jet was crap,only firing about 3 inchs up the window.
now it fires the water all the way to the top.
