Noticed this a little on one of my alloys on Friday, the laquer has just started to peel off around the centre cap.

Anyone else had or possibly seen this? Anyone managed to get a warranty claim for it possibly?

Welcome to Leon ownership. Some have had some luck with the warranty, others have been turned down.
Excuse to get them powder coated ;)

cheers mate. I have to take it back in shortly for some replacement parts fitting so will enquire then. If not, like you say, maybe time for a refurb.

I just noticed this last night too, when washing my car by hand - which is the first time in quite few months. Have you got an answer from Alx_chung yet? I'm due to take my Ref Sport in for a service and replacement parts so having some ammo would be handy.

LOL. Nah mate mines black. There still pretty rare. Iv geniunly only seen one other cupra and it was yellow parked at asda, and if only seen that once. That's why I bought the cupra coz I crnt stand driving a car that everybody has. Ala golf gti.

Plenty of FRs around. Love meeting them on the road though, you can see genuine disappointment when you overtake them LOL.

Mine did it, and because the wheel had a small ding, there was no chance it could have been done under warranty - SEAT are piss poor with this.

Contrast that to a lad at my work with a CRV who had (badly) kerbed all his wheels and had all 4 replaced based on lacquer peeling on 2 and a bit of rust on the 3rd one.

Cupra R, can I please ask, do you jetwash your car?

I once had this happen to me on a different car with a nice new set of Alloys.
With that car, Jet Washing ruined the laquer on the alloys, the water got in and made them go a milky color underneath.

Been reliably informed the high pressure of the jet wash will / can ruin the lacquer on the surface of the Alloy.

I only ever wash my car(s) now by hand, including the Alloy wheels.
Best of luck in getting yours fixed under warranty

(saying this now, you'll probably state you only ever hand wash them anyway). ;) :D

Join the club, 2 of my alloys have serious corrosion around the edges and 3 of them have lost there laquer finish, Seat would not replace mine under warrenty as they say they were kerbed but it must of been a majic kerbing that only Seat can see as loads of other people looked at them and could not see anything

Strange since I live not a million miles from you and Cupra R I've seen a fair few Cupra's in the area.

What year is yours webhype?

There is a red one parked quite often at a retail park just off the M62, I had a black one and have seen 3 or 4 other black ones at least in the area. I have seen loads of others on my travels. Loads of K1's about as well most in white. There has been one at my gym a few times.

On the wheels issue I would push SEAT on it. I had a Celica before the Cupra and Toyota replaced the wheels every year due to corrosion.
