had a free day today to get round to going over the ibiza again, never been ultimatley happy with its finish so i thought i would fix that :)

kick off:

water spotting, little etch marks here and there and the odd light swirl

break out the pre-wash tools i used

elite snowfoam in the lance followed by a 4:1 surfex mix on the lowers

(really dunno whats going on with the plate in this shot  )

the SF doing its job well.....car was washed last week iirc and hasnt moved out the garage since!

my mum nipped round at this point while the ibiza was dwelling and wanted to see her car foamed lol

anyway back to the ibiza...

all badges, shuts, trim, arches and grille were cleaned with a swissvax brush and the surfex mix 4:1....

100_0743.jpg

to be honest, they werent dirty at all since the last time i did them but heres what they came up like

100_0744.jpg

100_0745.jpg

and that brought me neatly on to the 2BM wash, chemical guys citrus wash & gloss in the dodo buckets and with a lambswool mitt of course :thumb:
i always choose to do my wheels last, as they never see chemicals, only a normal shampoo :)

100_0748.jpg

after a nice bath she was rinsed off and claying could begin :)
weapons of choice were sonus green and dodo born slippy, the sonus was ample as she had virtually no contamination as the following pictures show :)

after lower half of car

the next stage was drying, and gave me a chance to try out a new product to my collection! woo, dodo 'time to dry'.

100_0749.jpg

must admit its a really really good product to have! this combined with the ultra-plush made the drying process a joy! beading flattened almost instantly and enabled the towel to glide across the surface leaving alomst no patchy damp bits behind!

now with the car dry i had a quick fag and a coffee! and set up the machine.
combo used was menz 3.02 on a sonus sfx2 followed by 85rd on an sfx3 which worked well in my opinion :)

very hard to capture the light swirls but they were there
really hard colour to work with so i didnt bother with 50/50 as it proved pointless

before...not too bad at all but as said light defects

and to:
100_0753.jpg

at this point the camera was failing to pick up the minor defect removal so i saved the battery.

so after the car was machined in the above fashion, i cracked out a favorite, only this time it would have a turbo strapped to it ;)

Z2 and the polycharging kit

100_0754.jpg

half a dropper added to 1oz and ready to mix

100_0755.jpg

3 layers were added in succession to the entire car, each layer applied and buffed off in the normal fashion.

curing:

and removed:

100_0767.jpg

tyres and trim were dressed with megs endurance and poorboys trim and glass cleaned with normal window cleaner, arches dressed with chemical guys barebones, but i didnt bother taking 'application' shots lol

after that it was time to pack up after 11 hours work and get some nice shots of the finished job

Awesome job mate.

No wonder you have won awards when the car looks that good and is that tidy!

hows that lol

cos i've seen enough of you on DW!

And if there's ever a mk4 detail thread, with words like "Zaino" and "Polycharged" in it, it's bound to be you LMAO

BTW: I once spent 5 (almost solid) days on mine!

11hrs is still enough! I will be getting home this evening about 8:30 and washing as much as possible read for Inters 2moz!
