Phil, were you upgrading the clutch because you were having problems?

The only reason i changed was because the biting point on the Spec was right on the limit, and to be honest never really liked the feel of it from day 1. Had a look at the old clutch though and it wasn't that badly worn. not down to the rivets anyway..

I spoke to the garage about the master cylinder and they said that the problem is not hydraulic and that the peddle feel/travel is good, so they are saying that the clutch must be faulty.

Going to be fun sorting this one out.

i was told the same as that mate, they changed cylinder the next day, and that sorted it.
good luck!

Hi mate I had the same problem, when I had a Southbend stage 3 OFE clutch fitted to my car, when the car wasn’t started all the gears would go in fine, but start the car in neutral then the gears wouldn’t go in , what the tech found were I had it fitted that if he lifted the pedal about 20mm of the floor the gears would go in fine, so they put something at the bottom of my clutch pedal to lift it 20mm of the floor so the gears would go in fine.

What flywheel did you use Steve?
it was a small company advertising on ebay:w4nk:charged me £300 and when i took it back they said there was nothing wrong with it so wouldn't refund my money!i fear this might be your problem:cry:your only option is to buy another kit and send the southbend one back!i feel for you mate as i've been there.

Yeah i think i am fooked either way if i send it back i dont suppose southbend are going to admit that there is something wrong with it, The garage is not prepared to have the car sitting there while i send the clucth back either, So i think my only option is to source a clutch from elsewhere and try and sort it out afterwards.

Its like throwing money down the drain.:censored:

Also check the release arm. Seen a couple of bent ones in the past causing the release bearing not to travel far enough.
