how do u no if there are knacked and are there easy to change mine look well old and rusty the bolts that hold them that is

Bushes are lots more likely to be knackered than the bar itself
Subframe needs slackening to allow access, may as well uprate bushes too
If the rusty bits are drop links, it happens, exposed to the elements and salt on the roads is bound to cause corrosion

when these are knacked you will hear a knocking noise when you go over bumps, as for changing them they are a doddle to do.

Rusty doesn't mean there knackered.
As above you will get a knowing noise when there gone.
