I have been looking into Fitting cruise control for a while now, and finally decided to get it done but i need advice from anyone who has already done it.
I have ordered the stalk (1J0 953 513 01 C) and that will be delivered soon. I have vagcom and have found a guide to activate it, so thats not a problem either. Do i need anything else? I'm under the impresion that the TDI's are already wired up for C-C, but i'd like to confirm incase i need to order anything else.
Cheers for any advice.

you need the loom to go from the stalk to the plastic panel where the ecu wiring comes in...

There are 2 parts for the TDI and you need 3 parts for the 1.8T

TDI:
Stalk
Loom from stalk to the connection box under the scuttle panel.

1.8T
Stalk
Loom from stalk to the connection box under the scuttle panel.
Loom from connection box to the ecu. (I sell this on ebay as you can't buy from seat)

You should of ordered the cruise kit from seat £65 for the stalk and loom

But you can just order the loom seperatly i think work out bit more expensive but not by much...

Part number for loom should be: 1J0 971 425 A

The whole kit is: 1J0 998 527 A

Ermmmm..... will let you know. My old man is a mechanic so he should be able to figure it out if i have problems. I belive there are a few guides on the net, but i'll look for one nearer the time.

We went through the guide together and decided it was better left to SEAT, so i paid them a visit today and they are going to contact me to confirm the part numbers and give me a quote on fitting labour costs.
I will hopefully get it fitted this month.

its quite easy really, you got the tdi so you don't need to do the extra wiring like me, just a bit scary with removing airbag but if done correctly its easy

thanks gtd86, having used the airbag on my last two cars, i think i would prefer a sealer to do the work. just feel a tad more comfortable with that thought

now stupid question, had a quick look on the knowledge (info) base and didn't see a guide, so guessing davey the guide you found was for vag.com?

At last i've found a place that is willing to fit a genuine vw cruise control stalk for my leon 55 plate fr tdi 150 for the sum of £100 inclusive parts and labour. tims vw (023) 92375550 38 Jubilee Avenue, Paulsgrove, portsmouth, hampshire, PO64ON. The Genuine Volkswagen and Audi Group Specialist and the best part is that it is only 30 mins up the road. I'll post again when i get it done.
