Got it last week. Decided to take a few shots on the roof today. :)

Apparently I can't post pictures/links without making 15 posts, so just copy and paste the following album link in to your browser.

Thank you!

The camera is a Canon 350D, and developed in Adobe Lightroom 2. :)

The MK5 Cupra/Boc is a twin-charged 1.4L engine, tuned to 180bhp. The FR is the same engine but develops 150bhp I believe.

I was quite lucky actually. In total I paid just over 12k for it, the only extra is parking sensors (looking to retro an armrest and ipod/usb kit - not bothered about anything else).

I went out to dealerships in the hopes of putting in an order for a Boc, but as they didn't have any for me to try they recommended a brand new Cupra they had just got in as a demo (it had done around 30 miles when I took it out). I took it out and just fell in love with it.

They asked me if I'd like to purchase this one, but it turned out that I wouldn't be able to have it for a couple of months as it was still under contract to them as a demo. I managed to get them to knock off £2k just for the miles it may gain during this time (I was thinking over a thousand miles may be put on it), but when it came to picking it up it had only done an extra 90 or so miles. It had been really well looked after during it's demo life, and thanks to the snow and general bad weather we've been experiencing it very rarely saw the road during this time. When I picked it up it had done a total of 140 miles - about 10 of those were me during my test drive.

I got them to throw in fuel, premium mats, parking sensors, and got an excellent price for my part ex.

There's a full write up over in the dealership forum ("Nidd Vale, Harrogate") of my experience.

 4 pots. Is that 312mm brakes or 288's? Seems they're going a little backwards with the Mk5. I thought with the newer models, they were meant to be bigger, better, more wow. This one and the FR have the same power as the Mk4. With a smaller powerplant??

Very nice car! Just wonder if the Mk6 will be a 1.2 with drum brakes???

Have a read of my last post. I managed to get a good deal on it due to it being an ex-demo (albeit a hardly used ex-demo - thanks snow!), lack of optional extras and my part-ex. I agreed to take it off their hands there and then if they could make me a good deal. And they did.

Here's a copy of my post in the dealership section, detailing my experience:

I've just picked up my new MK5 Ibiza Cupra from these guys. Extremely courteous and professional. I was initially dealing with Ross, who took me out in a demo (which I then later snapped up) and told me to have some fun with it, and really see what it can do.

Back to the dealership and we worked on some numbers. They offered me a fantastic price on the demo, and my part-ex and threw in a few extras to sweeten the deal.

Ross then moved on to another department I believe, so Carl (who runs the joint I think) contacted me in person to clarify some numbers that me and Ross agreed on, and to get the ball rolling again. He was very apologetic about the confusion on their part and then said I'd be dealing with Darren for the remainder of the time.

Come vehicle handover time Darren helped me through the paperwork and part-ex. We were all done in no time. He then let me have some time with the car while they moved some cars around in the showroom so I could get out. He went over some of the functionality etc, and I had a quick flick through the quick reference guide. As he drove it out in to the car park, he then took the time to work through more of the cars functionality and recommended running procedures.

We initially agreed on premium car mats, which weren't available on pick-up, but Darren informed me they were on order and apolgised for the delay. He informed me that he'd be giving me a call this Friday just to check-in to see how everything is.

The fantastic deal they offered me on the car was based on the fact that the car was a demo car, and still under contract with them. This means I had a bit of a wait for it, but they insisted they'd look after it and keep it locked away as much as possible, but I shouldn't be surprised if it had clocked up some mileage during this period. To be honest I thought this was just sales-talk at the time, and expected up to a few thousand extra miles (it was ~50miles at the time I took it out for a spin). However, to my surprise they kept true to their word, and it had only clocked up an extra 140 miles in a few months.

All in all it was a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend them. They still have to send me the cashback we agreed on for my existing finance, but I'm sure a quick call will get that sorted.
