Cupramillo - Its a nice upgrade from my Ibiza. More power and it puts it down so well, Handles so much better than my ibiza. Although my Ibiza was not as spec'd as this.

I thought it would feel quite big compared to the Ibiza but thats not the case :)

Def recommend it as a step up from the Ibiza. (Depending on ibiza spec)

Took the car to South West In Car Tech in Bristol at the weekend along with some friends to put our cars on their Maha Dyno.

Now with the current spec I was expecting about 270bhp and around 270lb/ft.

I was first on the rollers:

Run 1:

249.7 Bhp
245 lb/ft

Im not overly set on figures but just worried something may be wrong.

It goes well on the road and feels great. Have checked for boost leaks and such but nothing. Boost guage reads as should be also.

I have a print for the car from AMD when Lee had the car with Custom Code Phase 1 and it made 264.4 Bhp 253.1 lb/ft. This was without the exhaust and front mount i beleive.

I also have a print from AMD with the current upgrades and Custom Code Phase 2 and that only made 254 Bhp but 272.2 lb/ft on run 1 and on run 2 it made 242.3 Bhp 259.4 lb/ft.

I know that Lee took someone out from AMD on that day to do some vag com logs and all was ok. (maybe lee can confirm)

Im thinking there must be something wrong? The only reason im worrying is just incase its something mechanically wrong.

Any help would be great :)

Yeah all was good on the day mate.

Went out with one of the tech's and all was good mate, nothing out of place at all. I think the BHP figure calculated out to about 274bhp when using the Maf g/s air flow value obtained during our road check.

Try giving custom code a call to see if they can help. I did try originally before I found the loose boost hose on the intercooler, but they were as helpful for me as a chocolate tea pot!

It does drive awsomw though............

Cheers Lee. I might have to do some logs on Vagcom again soon and see whats what.

Im not sure if it will be the map? Anyone know what psi it should be hitting and tailing off to on Custom Code 2? If its at the right figures could there still be a problem with the map?

What do people think of the graphs. Do they look alright?

I've seen a few CC stage 2 LCR's getting a software reflash with an updated version of the code since originally the code was too soft requesting mild boost values. Get some vagcom logs up if you can and all will be revealed.

Peak g/s shows 215, which using a scaling factor of 1.25 makes 268.75 BHP :)

Peak boost showing 20 PSI, with the gauge reading 22

Looks OK to me? ...and pulls well :)

i had my software reflashed with custome code stage 1 was only running 1.2bar spike and 1.0 bar at red line, now with newley updated map running 1.5 bar spike and 1.1- 1.2 bar at red line with vag com logs to back this up, there have been a few people with very mild boost settings and getting custom code to reflash there ecus with a newley updated versions, the bloke ate jbs told me that stage 1 should spike at 1.5 bar and drop to 1.1 which it does now surley stage 2 should do this just hold boost a little better also correction factors do look a little high of them logs but nothing to worry about, my stage 1 ran 290 lb ft and 261 bhp that was on the old map and the car is definatly faster now than it was then, i would have a word with custom code/jbs to see if there is anything they can do

Your logs do look good. As expected the peak boost generated is lower than what it should be (1.35 bar insted of 1.5), this will increase peak torque. You could also benfit from higher boost at red line.
I would PM JBS and ask them to check out this thread and arrange for a reflash to the latest version of this code.

No worries mate, glad to be of help and glad you liked it :)

Was loving your LCR too, you've got yourself a minter there and it pulls well even on those reserved boost settings so it'll be interesting to see how much torque can be gained from a reflash :D

If it turns out that a CC re-flash does sort the problem i'd be very disapointed in them, cos I phoned them originally following the AmD rolling road day, and all I got was........"it won't be the map" and said it would be the dyno lottery......Knowing the car was running spot on did make me think they were correct. Your recent rolling road elsewhere obviously shows that it wasn't!
If it wasn't for me finding the loose boost hose i'd of got a rolling road done somewhere else to see.

It would be obvious to me from these post's that It wouldn't be the first car to suffer from conservative boost settings.

I hope you get it sorted mate, as i'm sure 'she' would welcome the extra power :)


Keep us posted mate, and i'll stick those bits in the post for you next week.

Oh and she looks sweet on the rollers ;)

other stage 2's IU have done peak at 2550mb and fall away to 2200mb up top where the turbo's flat out

this looks somewhere between the two
